Job description from the source

**Intermediate Hydraulic Modeller – 3 Waters** Hamilton, Waikato \| Big Project Pipeline \| Join a National Modelling Team Fancy building models that actually shape how our cities handle water? We're working with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy on the hunt for an Intermediate Hydraulic Modeller to join their growing NZ water team. With a solid pipeline of secured work already locked in, you won't be sitting around waiting for projects, you'll be straight into stormwater, wastewater and drainage network work across NZ, with the door open to international projects too. This one's a good fit if you've got a few years under your belt with InfoWorks ICM, you're keen to take on more responsibility, and you want to keep levelling up your technical skills alongside people who'll actually teach you something. **What you'll be doing** * Building, developing and calibrating hydraulic models for stormwater, wastewater and drainage networks * Running system performance assessments * Helping shape options analysis and engineering solutions * Contributing to feasibility studies and concept design * Supporting model QA/QC * Getting out on site for investigations and technical assessments * Pulling together calculations, reports and technical documentation * Working closely with senior modellers and project teams on live projects * Picking up some mentoring of junior modellers as you grow into the role You won't just be cranking out models in isolation — you'll be part of a genuine team, working alongside senior modellers who'll back you to develop your technical judgement, not just your software skills. **What you'll bring** * A relevant Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering degree * Around 3–5 years' relevant experience, ideally from a consulting environment * Solid hands\-on experience with InfoWorks ICM * Some experience building and calibrating hydraulic models * Exposure to wastewater and/or stormwater network modelling * Comfort with GIS packages, ideally ArcGIS * Decent reporting and communication skills — you can explain your work to non\-modellers * A willingness to get involved with clients and project teams, not just stay behind the screen Bonus points if you've dabbled in data analytics, coding, automation or data visualisation — not essential, but it'll get you noticed. **Why this one's worth a look** You'll be joining a well\-regarded water consultancy with a genuinely strong forward workload, plenty of senior technical support around you, and real scope to grow your career rather than just clock hours. Flexible working, professional development, mentoring and a solid benefits package are all part of the deal. **Keen?** If you've got a few years of hydraulic modelling experience and InfoWorks ICM skills you're ready to put to work on some meaningful projects, get in touch for a confidential chat
