**Client Description:** Our client is a highly regarded Sydney commercial builder with an excellent reputation for delivering quality construction projects across Fit Out, Heavy Refurbishment and commercial building works. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of commercial construction projects, predominantly across Fit Out and Heavy Refurbishment, including complex works within live and occupied environments. Projects are diverse, technically interesting and delivered for an established and growing client base across Sydney. This is a hands-on Project Management role where you will have genuine ownership of your projects, from planning and procurement through to construction, commercial management and successful handover. You will work closely with the GM of Delivery, senior management, site teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest standards. The business is particularly interested in Project Managers who have developed their careers within respected upper Tier 2 or Tier 3 commercial head contractors and are looking for an opportunity to broaden their experience, take on greater responsibility and continue developing professionally. You'll be joining a business where your contribution will be noticed, your ideas will be heard and your career won't be limited by layers of management **.** **Key responsibilities include:** * Taking full responsibility for the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from commencement through to completion * Managing project programmes, budgets, procurement, subcontractors and overall project performance * Leading and supporting Contract Administrators, Site Managers and project delivery teams * Maintaining strong commercial control, including cost reporting, forecasting, variations and subcontractor management * Working closely with the General Manager of Delivery to ensure projects meet financial, programme and quality objectives * Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders * Managing construction activities within live and occupied environments where required * Identifying and managing project risks, programme challenges and commercial opportunities * Ensuring compliance with all relevant WHS, quality and environmental requirements * Driving accountability, collaboration and high standards across project teams * Contributing to project reviews, continuous improvement and the ongoing development of the delivery function **What We're Looking For** We are seeking an accomplished, commercially astute **Project Manager with a proven background delivering commercial construction projects for a reputable building head contractor.** Ideally, you will have gained your experience within an upper Tier 2 or Tier 3 builder and developed a strong understanding of what it takes to successfully manage projects from both a construction and commercial perspective. We are particularly interested in candidates who take genuine ownership of their work, enjoy leading teams and want to continue learning from experienced industry leaders. **The successful candidate will ideally possess:** * Proven experience as a Project Manager within a reputable commercial building head contractor * A strong background in commercial Fit Out, Heavy Refurbishment or complex building projects * Demonstrated experience managing projects from procurement and construction through to completion and handover * Sound commercial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, variations and cost control * Strong programming, planning and subcontractor management capabilities * Experience leading Site Managers, Contract Administrators and project delivery teams * Excellent client management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills * A thorough understanding of construction methodology, quality standards and WHS requirements * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure * A collaborative, accountable and solutions-focused approach to project delivery * Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Building or a related discipline will be highly regarded Experience delivering projects within live, operational or occupied environments would be particularly attractive. While a strong technical and commercial background is important, attitude, accountability and the ability to work well with people will be equally important.
