Senior Civil Estimator

**Gunter Construction Company** is seeking an experienced **Senior Civil Estimator** to join our team. This position will prepare accurate and competitive estimates for **heavy civil, concrete, roadway, street rehabilitation, earthwork, dirt work, and municipal/public works projects**. We are looking for an experienced **Estimator** who understands the complete bidding process and can manage multiple estimates and deadlines. The ideal candidate is detail\-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable in concrete and heavy civil construction. **Responsibilities** * Prepare complete estimates for **heavy civil and concrete construction projects**. * Review plans, specifications, contracts, addenda, and bid documents. * Perform detailed **quantity takeoffs and cost estimates**. * Estimate labor, equipment, materials, trucking, subcontractor, and supplier costs. * Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. * Analyze labor productivity and equipment production rates. * Identify project risks, missing scope, cost\-saving opportunities, and constructability concerns. * Develop competitive bid strategies and final pricing. * Attend pre\-bid meetings and job site visits as needed. * Present estimates and recommendations to management. * Coordinate with Project Managers, Operations, Superintendents, and field teams during project handoff. * Manage multiple bids and meet required deadlines. * Maintain estimating records, historical pricing, and project cost information. * Stay current with **KDOT, MoDOT, KCMO, and other applicable municipal specifications and bidding requirements**. **Qualifications** * **7\+ years of heavy civil and/or concrete construction estimating experience.** * Experience estimating **concrete paving, concrete flatwork, street rehabilitation, roadway construction, dirt work, earthwork, grading, and municipal/public works projects**. * Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, contracts, and public bidding. * Strong **quantity takeoff, cost estimating, and bid preparation** skills. * Knowledge of labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs. * Experience with **KDOT, MoDOT, KCMO, DOT, or municipal projects** preferred. * Proficiency with **B2W Estimate (Bid2Win), PlanSwift, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office**. * Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple bids, priorities, and deadlines. * Strong communication skills and ability to work with both office and field teams. * Valid driver's license.
