Job description from the source
**About the company** We are one of the world’s earliest and most established digital asset platforms, serving tens of millions of users across global markets. Consistently ranked among the top exchanges worldwide, we support a comprehensive suite of trading and wealth management products across thousands of digital assets. With thousands of employees spanning key financial hubs globally, we operate with a remote-first, high-autonomy culture that attracts talent who thrive in fast-moving, intellectually demanding environments. We are building the financial infrastructure of the next era of the internet. **Why this role** Our regulated payments business in Malta is growing, and the licence it runs on only holds if compliance stands up to a close look from the regulator. You will be the person who makes sure it does, working beside the business as products and volumes expand. Done well, you protect the licence and let the business move faster without surprises. In 18 months you will have built the monitoring and reporting routines the function runs on, and you will be ready to lead it. This role is Malta-based and hybrid: you must already live in Malta with the right to work, as we do not offer relocation or visa sponsorship. **What you’ll do** * Run day-to-day compliance for a regulated payments business, and keep policies, training and reporting audit-ready all year * Own AML/CFT controls end to end: risk assessments, transaction monitoring oversight and suspicious activity escalation * Act as the main contact for the regulator, preparing filings and answering queries on time * Review new products, partners and payment flows for regulatory impact before they launch **What you’ll bring** Non-negotiables * Has worked in compliance at a licensed payment institution or e-money institution, and knows what the regulator expects of one * Has owned AML/CFT controls in practice, including risk assessments and suspicious activity reporting * Has dealt directly with a financial regulator, ideally in Malta or the EU, and writes to their standard * Gives clear, defensible advice to product and business teams under time pressure Bonus * MFSA approval as a compliance officer, or comparable regulator sign-off elsewhere * Exposure to card schemes, acquiring or cross-border payment flows * Experience in crypto or digital assets, useful but not required
