### **Assignment Overview** * Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs * Hours: 36 hrs/wk * Start Date: Nov 16, 2026 * Length: 13 weeks * Openings: 1 ### **Description** American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a night shift psychiatric unit position requiring at least 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience and an active OH or compact RN license. ### **Details** * Behavioral Health unit within a hospital setting * Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30 * Every other weekend coverage required * Patient ratio of 1:6 * Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity * Epic EMR experience required ### **Requirements** * Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration * BLS certification required * CPI certification preferred * Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including psychiatric experience * Epic charting system experience required * Experience caring for patients with psychiatric conditions including anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, substance use, and suicidal behavior * Skilled in de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques * Experience with medication administration including antianxiety, antidepressant, antipsychotic, mood stabilizer, and sedative/analgesic medications preferred * Experience with seclusion protocols and managing assaultive behavior * Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required * 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted ### **Additional Information** * Provide direct nursing care to patients in an inpatient, locked behavioral health unit * Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, as this process has urgent timelines * Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility * Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system * First-time travelers are welcome to apply * Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate * RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
