Job description from the source

**About The Company** DCS Corp. is seeking a User Experience / User Interface (UX/UI) Designer to support the WSSIS V Contract at AWL. In this role, you will contribute to enterprise business web applications and work alongside a multidisciplinary software development team. The work calls for thoughtful design, close collaboration with users and technical partners, and a focus on making complex workflows clear, efficient, and accessible. **About The Role** The UX/UI Designer will translate business needs and user workflows into intuitive digital experiences. You will help connect end users, business and product stakeholders, developers, and quality assurance testers throughout the design and delivery process. From early research and information architecture through wireframes, visual designs, and interactive prototypes, your work will inform practical solutions for enterprise applications. You will also help maintain a consistent experience across applications by contributing to a unified design system and component library. The position offers a salary range of $70,310 to $76,000. **Qualifications** U.S. citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Department of Defense security clearance for the duration of employment. A bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Interaction Design, or a related field is required, along with at least one to two years of professional UX/UI design experience for web applications. An equivalent combination of education and directly relevant practical experience may also be considered. Applicants should be proficient with modern interface design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Axure RP. A strong working knowledge of responsive web design, grid systems, typography, color theory, and modular component architecture is expected. Candidates should be able to facilitate user-facing sessions, gather feedback, identify usability issues, and turn findings into actionable design improvements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills are important, as is the ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile development environment. Desired qualifications include an online portfolio or work samples demonstrating the design process from research and sketches through polished prototypes. Familiarity with HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript can support effective design handoffs. Experience with Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps, and work in defense, aerospace, or military software environments—particularly NAWCWD or AWL support programs—is also valued. **Responsibilities** Collaborate with end users, business and product managers, developers, and QA testers to understand user needs, workflows, and business objectives. Plan and conduct user research, interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing, then analyze findings to guide design decisions. Develop user personas, journey maps, information architectures, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes for enterprise web applications. Establish, maintain, and evolve a unified design system and component library to support consistency across internal applications. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives. Partner with front-end engineers throughout implementation to preserve design intent and address usability concerns. Adapt to changing priorities, project requirements, and constructive feedback from users and stakeholders. **Benefits** The position offers a stated salary range of $70,310 to $76,000 and the opportunity to contribute to software used in a mission-focused environment. You will work with a collaborative, cross-functional team and develop experience spanning user research, interaction design, prototyping, and implementation. Employment benefits, if applicable, are provided in accordance with company policies and the terms of employment. Equal Opportunity DCS Corp. is committed to fair and equal employment opportunity. Employment decisions are made in accordance with applicable laws and without discrimination based on protected status. Applicants requiring assistance or an accommodation during the hiring process may contact the company through its established recruiting channels.
