Job description from the source

**Summary** Do you want to have a significant impact on how work is done at Apple? Radar is used by every major organization across Apple to help teams organize and track their work. As Apple’s primary tool for defining, tracking, and testing issues, Radar has been used for decades across various teams, including hardware and software engineering. It serves as a unified platform for bug tracking, test case management, and product management, facilitating seamless coordination among team members. The Radar Engineering team at Apple seeks an early-career Swift Engineer to help build the native Radar apps used across Apple on macOS and iOS. **Description** As a Swift Engineer on the Radar Client team, you will help build the native Radar apps that engineers across Apple use every day to track bugs, plan work, and ship products. Radar is a high-traffic, business-critical system used by teams across all of Apple, and the apps you will work on are the frontend clients of the platform. You will join a growing team distributed across California, Texas, and Ireland. In our highly collaborative environment, you will work closely with a team of passionate builders to deliver end-to-end features critical to Apple’s engineering workflows. You will receive structured mentorship, comprehensive training in Apple’s development practices, and the support to learn and develop your skills quickly. You will write, test, and ship Swift code across Radar’s macOS and iOS apps. You will build new features, fix bugs, and learn how to keep a large, long-lived codebase fast and reliable while it constantly evolves. As you ramp up, you will take on increasing ownership of features, contribute to design discussions, and help bring new frameworks and technologies into the apps. **Responsibilities** * Design, build, and test features and bug fixes for Radar’s native apps in Swift. * Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code, and participate in code reviews. * Work with senior engineers and designers to break down features into well-scoped tasks and deliver them on schedule. * Investigate and resolve issues reported by users, working with QE and the Radar Platform team. * Contribute to technical design discussions and documentation. * Follow and help improve the team’s engineering best practices. **Minimum Qualifications** * Solid programming skills in Swift or similar language, with a good grasp of protocol-oriented and object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms. * Experience with SwiftUI, AppKit, or UIKit. * Familiarity with building apps for Apple platforms using Xcode. * Experience with version control (Git) and a working understanding of the software development lifecycle. **Preferred Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * Experience consuming REST APIs from a client app. * Experience with unit and UI testing frameworks such as XCTest. * Interest or experience in agentic workflows, MCP integrations, or AI-assisted development tools. * Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution. At Apple, we believe accessibility is a fundamental human right. You’ll find that idea reflected in everything here — in our culture, our benefits and our digital tools. By welcoming as many perspectives as possible, we help you build a career where you feel like you belong. Learn about accessibility in Apple’s workplace Role Number: 200689059-1418
