Reliability Engineer

**About the Role** Our industrial manufacturing site is looking for a skilled Reliability Engineer to boost equipment output, cut down on unexpected downtime, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will be tasked with creating and executing strategies that optimize operational efficiency, maximize asset uptime, and uphold our commitment to safety and environmental standards. We are seeking a professional with deep expertise in mechanical reliability, preventive maintenance, and root cause analysis. You will collaborate across maintenance, engineering, and operations departments to pinpoint equipment challenges, execute solutions, and drive long-term asset health. **Core Responsibilities** * Partner with cross-functional teams to establish reliability goals and execute equipment performance strategies. * Enhance our predictive and preventive maintenance initiatives, such as infrared thermography, oil analysis, and vibration monitoring. * Offer technical guidance to engineering staff and maintenance teams to resolve equipment malfunctions and create lasting fixes. * Lead investigations into mechanical failures to help the team avoid future recurring issues and improve overall system stability. * Assess the state of equipment to suggest maintenance strategies, repair priorities, and necessary upgrades. * Assist in the coordination and implementation of major maintenance events, turnarounds, and facility shutdowns. * Oversee reliability projects designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate equipment performance. * Draft engineering reports and support the design and rollout of facility modifications and equipment enhancements. * Examine project specifications and engineering designs to ensure they meet internal guidelines, safety requirements, and industry standards. * Help create and maintain safety standards for equipment and mechanical engineering procedures. * Evaluate technical documentation from vendors and take part in equipment testing and site inspections. * Utilize industry best practices and reliability-centered maintenance to boost equipment availability while helping to lower maintenance expenses. * Engage in operational support or site on-call duties as the role requires. * Complete additional tasks as assigned. **Qualifications** * A Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline or Mechanical Engineering. * At least five years of engineering experience, ideally within industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, or similar environments. * Preference for candidates with a background in resource planning, budgeting, and engineering project management. * Proven track record in failure prevention, maintenance optimization, and mechanical equipment reliability. * Familiarity with process safety requirements and industrial safety protocols. **Technical Skills and Knowledge** * Deep expertise in rotating equipment, such as centrifugal/positive displacement/diaphragm pumps, turbines, screw/reciprocating compressors, and axial/centrifugal compressors. * Understanding of industrial process control concepts and compressor control systems. * Practical experience with predictive maintenance tools, including oil analysis, vibration monitoring, and infrared thermography. * Proficiency in Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), or comparable methodologies. * Working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management). * Strong analytical, mathematical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities. * Capacity to assess intricate mechanical systems and design sustainable, long-term engineering solutions. * Excellent collaboration, organizational, and communication abilities. * Competency in Microsoft Office suite, CMMS platforms, and specialized engineering analysis software.
