Principal Power Systems Engineer

**Principal Power Systems Engineer:** A well-established energy business with a mixed portfolio of renewable, hybrid and conventional generation is looking for a Principal Power Systems specialist. You’ll lead the in-house studies team, act as the technical authority, and have a real say in how the team grows and how the assets perform. **The role** * Lead grid connection, GPS and network compliance studies, steady-state and dynamic. * Own modelling tools, methods and standards, and sign off study outputs. * Build and validate models across platforms, including conversion and benchmarking. * Tackle weak grid and low SCR issues with practical solutions. * Mentor engineers and build out the team’s capability. * Support bids with scope, estimates and technical input. * Work directly with network operators, regulators, OEMs and clients. **You’ll bring** * Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering. * 6+ years in power systems, across utilities, generation or consultancy. * Strong PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerFactory and ETAP experience. * A track record delivering GPS and grid connection studies. * Python for study automation. * Microgrid or weak grid experience is a plus.
