Senior Python Data Warehouse Developer

Cpl are partnering with a leading financial services organisation to hire an experienced, hands-on Data Warehouse Developer with strong Python skills. You’ll help move a long-established SQL Server warehouse onto a modern cloud Lakehouse platform, while keeping the existing environment stable and reliable. This is a senior role with real influence over technical direction. **Responsibilities** * Design, build and support cloud data solutions using Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric * Develop and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration processes * Maintain and tune SQL Server databases, stored procedures and views * Write Python for automation, orchestration, monitoring and data quality * Contribute to the move to a Medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) Lakehouse architecture * Manage job scheduling and workflow automation, including AutoSys and JIL scripting * Resolve production incidents and take part in on-call support * Work with business stakeholders, analysts and engineering teams in an Agile environment * Help shape architecture decisions and uphold governance, security and audit standards **Requirements** * 7+ years’ experience in data warehouse and SQL Server development * Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric * Advanced T-SQL and strong Python programming skills * Proven experience delivering Lakehouse, cloud migration or modernisation projects * Solid ETL/ELT, data modelling and performance tuning skills * Experience supporting business-critical production systems * Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices * Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to work independently * Desirable: financial services background, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, relevant cloud certifications **On offer** * Hybrid and flexible working * Competitive salary and benefits package * Private medical, life and disability cover * Wellbeing support, including counselling and coaching services * Generous annual leave * Learning and career development opportunities
