Food Service Manager

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Food Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of a school food service program. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, and be committed to providing nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming setting. **Schedule and Benefits** * Monday through Friday, day shift * No weekends or holidays * Summers off ServSafe® Certification is a plus. Candidates must be able to obtain the required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting. **Key Responsibilities** ------------------------ **Daily Operations** * Oversee and manage daily school food service operations. * Ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently and according to established standards. * Support and supervise food service staff to maintain smooth daily operations. **Food Preparation and Production** * Prepare and cook a variety of foods according to recipes and established procedures. * Ensure proper portion control and meet production standards in accordance with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines. * Help ensure meals meet applicable food service and nutrition requirements. **Ordering and Inventory** * Place food and supply orders as needed. * Monitor inventory, maintain appropriate stock levels, and minimize waste. * Assist with menu promotions and other food service marketing initiatives. **Point-of-Sale (POS) and Cash Handling** * Support staff with cash collection and register operations. * Ensure accurate transactions and compliance with recordkeeping procedures. **Food Safety and Cleanliness** * Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and serving area. * Ensure food safety and sanitation procedures are consistently followed. * Ensure required personal protective equipment (PPE) is used appropriately and safety procedures are maintained. **Staffing and Team Leadership** * Assist with recruiting and securing food service workers and substitute staff. * Provide direction and support to team members. * Promote a positive, cooperative, and professional work environment. **Qualifications:** ------------------- * Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety practices. * Basic inventory management, ordering, and cash-handling skills. * ServSafe® Certification preferred. * Ability to obtain required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.
