Job description from the source
Director of Marketing \& Growth **SariDLM, Inc. \| Lake Oswego, Oregon** **Salary: $85,000–$100,000, depending on experience** SariDLM is looking for a strategic, creative, and highly organized **Director of Marketing \& Growth** to lead our marketing function and serve as a key driver of revenue growth. We're a small company, which means this isn't a traditional corporate Director of Marketing role. You'll lead and work alongside a small marketing and media team, while remaining actively involved in the work yourself. **You'll set the strategy, lead the team, and roll up your sleeves to help execute.** We're looking for someone who loves that combination. The right person knows when to lead, when to delegate, when to collaborate, and when to jump in and get something done. You can see the big picture—brand, positioning, customer journey, growth, and retention—and translate that vision into clear priorities for your team. But you're equally comfortable writing copy, shaping a campaign, working through a launch, reviewing creative, improving a customer journey, or tackling something yourself when that's what the moment requires. You'll oversee and work closely with our existing marketing and media team members, helping them do their best work while ensuring the entire function is moving toward the same goals. You'll also be a member of the **SariDLM leadership team**, with significant ownership over how the company grows, how we show up in the market, how prospective clients find and engage with us, and how existing clients experience our brand. This is a leadership role in the fullest sense. We expect you to contribute beyond the marketing function—bringing ideas, perspective, and thoughtful challenge to conversations about where the company is going and how we get there. Ultimately, your job is to help SariDLM grow—by leading an effective marketing function that attracts the right clients, converts interest into business, creates exceptional client experiences, and gives people compelling reasons to stay connected to SariDLM. **What You'll Own:** **Marketing Strategy \& Growth** You'll develop and lead our overall marketing strategy with a focus on sustainable revenue growth, client acquisition, engagement, and retention. You'll identify opportunities, develop campaigns, plan and execute launches, help shape pricing and offers, and create the workflows and timelines necessary to turn ideas into results. We're not looking for someone who waits to be handed a marketing plan. We want someone who brings ideas to the table, makes recommendations, builds a plan, mobilizes the team, and gets it across the finish line. You'll be expected to understand what's driving results, what's not, and where our biggest opportunities for growth exist—and to use that information to continually improve our marketing. **Team Leadership \& Execution** You'll lead a small marketing and media team, setting priorities, providing direction and feedback, and making sure great ideas actually make it out into the world. You'll be responsible for determining how the work gets done—what you own personally, what belongs with members of your team, and when outside resources may be needed. You'll create clear workflows, timelines, and expectations so the team knows where we're going, who's responsible for what, and what success looks like. And while this is absolutely a leadership role, **this is not a job for someone who only wants to direct the work of others.** We're a small company. Everyone gets their hands dirty. You'll be expected to jump into the work—whether that's writing or editing copy, developing a campaign, working through a launch, reviewing creative, improving a webpage, brainstorming content, or solving a problem alongside your team. We don't need someone who does everything themselves. **We need someone who makes sure everything gets done—and isn't afraid to do their part of that work.** **Brand \& Content** You'll protect and elevate the SariDLM brand across every touchpoint, ensuring our messaging, voice, and visual identity remain consistent while finding creative ways to tell our story. You'll lead the development of content across multiple channels, working with your team while also contributing directly when appropriate, including: * Email * Social media * Website * Presentations * Workbooks and handouts * Event and speaking materials * Graphics and marketing collateral * Podcast content You don't need to be a professional graphic designer, copywriter, web developer, and videographer all rolled into one. But you do need to be resourceful, have a strong eye, be an excellent communicator, and know how to lead a team in producing great work. Most importantly, you'll need to understand what makes SariDLM different and know how to communicate it without sanding off the edges that make the brand interesting in the first place. **Campaigns, Launches \& Promotions** You'll own the marketing calendar and help determine **what we market, when we market it, and how.** You'll develop launch strategies, plan campaigns, determine what we promote at events and speaking engagements, and develop strategies for paid advertising and other growth initiatives. You'll direct the work necessary to execute those initiatives, jump in where your skills are needed, and make sure campaigns get from **idea to execution**. And the job doesn't stop when something launches. You'll measure what happened, learn from it, and use those insights to make the next campaign better. **Client \& Market Engagement** You'll stay close to both our clients and our market. You'll help prospective clients identify the SariDLM offering that best fits their needs, ensure interested prospects receive thoughtful follow\-up, conduct competitor and industry research, oversee our online reputation, and identify opportunities to expand our visibility and reach. You'll pay attention to what our clients are asking for, what the market is doing, and where there may be opportunities we haven't considered yet. We want someone who is curious about our clients—not just how to market *to* them, but how to understand them. **Customer Experience \& Retention** We want every interaction with SariDLM to feel intentional. You'll map and continually improve the customer journey, looking for ways to create a seamless experience from someone's first interaction with our brand through becoming—and remaining—a client. You'll bring a strong eye for design and user experience and continually ask: **How can we make this better?** You'll also develop strategies designed to deepen engagement, improve retention, and strengthen long\-term relationships with our clients and members. **Leadership \& Cross\-Functional Collaboration** As a member of the **SariDLM leadership team**, you'll help shape company strategy and priorities—not simply execute marketing initiatives after decisions have been made. You'll bring the marketing and growth perspective to leadership decisions and work across the company to ensure our marketing supports our broader business and revenue goals. Our Director of Operations owns the company's P\&L and broader financial management. You'll partner closely with them, owning marketing's contribution to growth and understanding how your team's work translates into measurable business results. You'll also collaborate across departments to ensure our messaging, campaigns, and customer experience are integrated throughout the entire client lifecycle. Because we're a small company, leadership at SariDLM isn't about staying in your lane. There will be times when you'll jump into something that doesn't fit neatly inside a corporate marketing job description. That's not an exception to the job. **That's part of being a leader at SariDLM.** **Who We're Looking For** You may be a great fit if you: * Think strategically but genuinely enjoy executing. * Know how to lead people and bring out their best work. * Are an exceptional writer and communicator. * Have strong marketing instincts and understand how brand, content, sales, and customer experience work together. * Understand that marketing exists to produce business results—not simply activity. * Can turn an idea into a strategy, translate that strategy into a plan, and lead people through execution. * Know how to delegate without disappearing from the work. * Are highly organized and excellent at managing multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities. * Have a strong visual eye and understand what makes content and marketing materials feel polished and on\-brand. * Are comfortable looking at data, figuring out what's working and what isn't, and changing course when necessary. * Take ownership. If something falls within your area, you don't wait for someone else to notice it or solve it. * Are curious, resourceful, and constantly looking for ways to improve. * Can collaborate well while also working independently and making decisions. * Like working in a small company where you can have a meaningful impact. * Are comfortable wearing multiple hats and don't consider execution "beneath" a director\-level role. * Have a point of view—and are comfortable working for a company that has one too. **Experience** We're more interested in **what you've actually accomplished** than in checking boxes. We're looking for someone with significant professional marketing experience and demonstrated success leading marketing initiatives from strategy through execution. You should also have experience leading or managing other people. This doesn't need to mean you've managed a huge department—we don't have one—but you should know how to set expectations, delegate effectively, give useful feedback, hold people accountable, and create an environment where good people can do great work. Experience with digital marketing, content strategy, email marketing, social media, launches, paid advertising, SEO/SEM, customer journey optimization, retention, and brand management is highly valuable. Experience working in a **small business, service\-based company, education or membership organization, professional\-services firm, or founder\-led business** is a definite plus. **About SariDLM** SariDLM is a trial consulting and training company with a big mission: **Changing the world, one trial lawyer at a time.** We help trial lawyers become exceptional communicators and advocates—not only by teaching trial skills, but by developing the mindset required to perform at an elite level when the stakes are high. Our approach is different, and that's intentional. We're a creative, passionate, highly collaborative company that isn't particularly interested in doing things simply because that's how they've always been done. We question conventional thinking, experiment with new ideas, and aren't afraid to disrupt an industry that can sometimes be slow to change. At the same time, everything we do is rooted in authenticity and love. We care deeply about our clients, about one another, and about the work we're putting into the world. We believe you can have exceptionally high standards while still leading with humanity—and that the two actually make each other stronger. Our Core Values **Disruptive. Creative. Authentic. Passionate. Loving.** Those aren't words that live on a wall. They influence how we teach, how we serve our clients, how we market, how we make decisions, and how we work together. We're a small company with a strong point of view, a distinctive brand, and ambitious plans for growth. We're looking for someone who sees that as an opportunity: someone who can understand what makes SariDLM different and help us share it with more of the people who need what we do. Compensation **$85,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience.** To Apply Please send us your resume along with a brief note telling us **why this particular role—and SariDLM—caught your attention.** And because we're hiring a marketer, **we'd love to see your work.** Include examples of campaigns, launches, content, brand work, or other marketing projects that show us how you think and what you can do. We're less interested in seeing a perfectly polished application than we are in understanding **how you think, what you've created, how you lead, and what happens when you're given something to own.** **SariDLM, Inc.** 300 Oswego Pointe Dr., Suite 202 Lake Oswego, OR 97034 Pay: $85,000\.00 \- $100,000\.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off Work Location: In person
