Accountant

**Accountant \| Public Practice \| Canberra** Our client, a well\-established public practice accounting firm based in Canberra, is seeking an experienced **Accountant** to join their collaborative and client\-focused team. The role offers exposure to a diverse client portfolio and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and business growth initiatives. In return, the firm offers a flexible work environment, competitive remuneration, ongoing training and development, and potential relocation assistance for interstate candidates. **Key Responsibilities:** * Review individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns, including complex Capital Gains Tax (CGT) matters. * Review financial statements, working papers, and compliance engagements to ensure accuracy and quality. * Manage workflow allocation and compliance deadlines across the team * Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional and timely service delivery. * Review SMSF tax returns and financial statements (highly regarded but not essential). * Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, and operational efficiencies. * Collaborate with team members while independently managing complex accounting matters. * Ensure compliance with Australian taxation legislation and accounting standards. **Key Requirements:** * CA or CPA qualified. * Minimum 5 years' experience in a public practice environment. * Strong experience reviewing tax returns and financial statements across various entity types. * Sound knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements. * Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisational skills. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software platforms. * Strong commitment to client service excellence and continuous improvement.
