Bookkeeper - Tax Preparer

As a Bookkeeper-Tax Preparer, you'll play a crucial role in managing accounting for business clients and preparing taxes for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and payroll. You'll utilize your proficiency in QuickBooks to handle financial statements and ensure accurate and timely reporting. Your ability to communicate effectively with clients will be key to building and maintaining strong relationships. While a CPA or EA background is a plus, it's not a requirement. Experience in public accounting will set you apart. **Compensation:** $25 - $28 hourly DOE **Responsibilities:** * Provide accounting and tax services to small businesses. * Ability to review and correct the client's general ledger for tax preparation and planning. * Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing (respond to client questions – tax and accounting/bookkeeping; request information needed to fulfill the engagement). * Working knowledge of QuickBooks. * Ability to review tax returns. * Ability to research, evaluate, and provide resolution to questions during preparation of tax returns and financial statements. * Coordinate work with “team members” and be able to work independently within the scope of the project. * Utilize technology and the ability to adapt to ever-changing processes. * Dedication to the profession/work and a high standard of work ethic. **Qualifications:** * 2 to 5 years of work experience in a CPA firm. * Individual and Business Tax Return preparation experience is required. * QB Desktop & online: 3 years (Preferred). * Working knowledge of the UltraTax program is a Plus. * QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a Plus. * EA or CPA license preferred. **About Company** Macias and Associates, CPA, is a friendly and highly dynamic accounting firm.
