Product Owner

**Job Title:** Software Product Owner **Location:** Galway - Hybrid **Type:** Full-time **About the Role** We are seeking an experienced **Software Product Owner** to join our team. You will play a key role in driving product development and delivery, working closely with stakeholders, business teams, and development squads. **Key Responsibilities** * Own and manage the **product backlog** , ensuring it is clearly defined, prioritised, and aligned with business goals. * Translate business requirements into well-structured **user stories** and **acceptance criteria** . * Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and communicate the product vision. * Work closely with Agile teams, ensuring alignment with **SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)** practices. * Participate in **PI (Program Increment) planning** , sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews. * Ensure features deliver real business value, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines. * Act as the key decision-maker on product functionality and priority within the team. * Monitor delivery progress and adjust backlog priorities as needed. * Advocate for **agile ways of working** and contribute to continuous improvement within teams. **Requirements** * Proven experience as a **Product Owner** in a software development environment. * Strong understanding and practical experience with **Agile methodologies** and **SAFe** . * Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, UX, and business stakeholders. * Previous experience working in Software Development * Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to articulate vision and priorities. * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to work independently while staying connected to a distributed team. * Must be **based in Ireland** with the right to work. **Nice to Have** * Background in software engineering, business analysis, or product management. * Experience with tools such as **Jira** , **Confluence** , or similar. * Familiarity with cloud technologies and SaaS products. * Relevant certifications (e.g., **Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)** , **CSPO** ).
