Laois, Ireland **Industry:** Construction **Role Type:** Full\-time, permanent **Role Overview** We are looking for an experienced **Senior Site Engineer** to join one of our client's site teams on a construction project based in **Portlaoise, Co. Laois** . This is a full\-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on significant responsibility across **setting out, technical coordination, quality and site delivery** . The successful candidate will work closely with the **Project Manager, Site Management team and subcontractors** to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements. **Role and Responsibilities** * Maintain accurate **site records, drawings and technical documentation** . * Carry out **setting out** and ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications. * Interpret and communicate complex **plans, drawings and technical specifications** to site teams. * Manage, monitor and coordinate site works in line with contract documentation. * Liaise with **consultants, subcontractors, architects, planners and the wider project team** . * Supervise and coordinate subcontractor works and direct labour. * Organise **site logistics and plant** to maximise efficiency. * Oversee **quality control, BCAR compliance and Health \& Safety** requirements. * Conduct regular site and safety checks to ensure compliance with relevant standards. * Identify and resolve **technical and site\-based issues** promptly. * Plan and coordinate works to meet key **project milestones and deadlines** . * Work closely with the **Project Manager and wider Site Management team** . * Monitor progress and ensure works remain in line with the project programme. * Ensure works meet required **quality, specification and safety standards** . **Requirements** * Minimum **5\+ years' experience** in a Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer position within construction. * Relevant qualification in **Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline** . * Previous experience working with a **main contractor** . * Strong **setting out and technical coordination** experience. * Experience delivering construction projects from commencement through to completion. * Strong technical and practical knowledge of **construction processes, standards and regulations** . * Good understanding of **BCAR and quality requirements** . * Ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors and site teams. * Ability to work independently and as part of the wider project team. * Self\-motivated with a **proactive approach** to site delivery. * Excellent attention to detail. * Strong **analytical, decision\-making and problem\-solving skills** . * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. **Why Join?** This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced **Senior Site Engineer** looking for their next permanent construction role in **Portlaoise** .
