Job description from the source

**Full Stack Python Engineer (AI/LLM & Agents)** Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid) | Large Irish Fintech | Contract **The opportunity** A large Irish fintech operating at the intersection of finance and technology is building AI-powered products and agent-driven workflows in Dublin. It needs a full stack Python engineer who can take them from prototype to production, in a business where the systems handle real money and real customers. You’ll work across the stack, from backend services and APIs to the interfaces people use, and you’ll build LLM and agent capabilities into products that ship to users. It’s a chance to apply AI where reliability, security and accuracy matter, with a team that expects the work to go live. **What you’ll do** * Design, build and ship full stack features in Python, from backend services and APIs through to the front end * Build and deploy production-grade LLM-powered features and agents: multi-step workflows, tool use, memory and orchestration * Architect RAG pipelines over financial and operational data: chunking, embeddings, hybrid retrieval, reranking and grounding that measurably reduces hallucination * Build evaluation frameworks for agent reliability and accuracy, including offline evals, LLM-as-judge and monitoring in production * Integrate AI features with payments, transaction and customer systems through well-designed, secure APIs * Build in guardrails, logging and audit trails so AI-driven decisions can be traced and explained in a regulated setting * Optimise LLM usage for latency, cost and throughput * Work with product, data, security and compliance teams to turn ideas into shipped features * Raise the bar through code reviews, design discussions and mentoring **What you’ll bring** *Essential* * Strong software engineering fundamentals and production-quality Python * Full stack experience, with a modern front end (React and TypeScript preferred) alongside Python backend services * Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications and agents with frameworks such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen or CrewAI, or your own orchestration layer * RAG systems delivered in production, including vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS or similar) and retrieval evaluation * Experience with prompt engineering, function/tool calling and structured outputs * Experience designing and consuming APIs, with solid SQL and relational database skills * Cloud and DevOps skills (AWS, GCP or Azure; Docker, CI/CD, observability) * A pragmatic, product-minded approach: you know when to build, when to buy and when to cut scope *Highly desirable* * Fintech, payments, banking or other regulated environment experience * Fine-tuning experience (LoRA/QLoRA, distillation) and LLM inference/serving knowledge * Multi-agent systems, MCP or tool-protocol design, and agent safety and guardrails * Kubernetes and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) * Experience with security, data protection and compliance requirements in financial services * A strong public technical profile or open-source contributions **Why this role** * Real impact: your work ships to customers in a business that handles real money * Interesting problems: apply agents and LLMs where accuracy, security and explainability matter * Strong peers: work alongside experienced engineers, data and product teams * Scale: a large, established fintech with real data and the resources to do the job properly * Dublin base: hybrid working in one of Europe’s biggest tech hubs
