Job description from the source

Senior Accountant **Vineyard Oil & Gas Company | North East, PA** **Full-Time | On-Site | Monday–Friday** **Join an Established Company Where Your Work Matters** For more than 47 years, Vineyard Oil & Gas Company has built a strong reputation in the oil and natural gas industry through hard work, adaptability, and a commitment to doing things well. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who wants more than a narrowly defined accounting role. This is an opportunity to become an important part of a dedicated, collaborative team and gain broad exposure to the financial and operational sides of an established energy company. This is a hands-on position with meaningful responsibility. You will be involved in day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting and forecasting, customer billing, credit, and accounting related to our natural gas operations. If you enjoy understanding the bigger picture, taking ownership of your work, solving problems, and finding better ways to get things done, this could be an excellent opportunity. **Who Will Succeed in This Role?** This position is ideal for an experienced, self-motivated accounting professional who enjoys being actively involved in the business rather than focusing on just one area of accounting. You should be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and taking responsibility for projects and processes from beginning to end. We value someone who is curious, dependable, adaptable, and willing to ask questions, but who also has the experience and confidence to exercise good judgment and move work forward without constant direction. Because we are a collaborative organization, we’re looking for someone willing to contribute where needed and who sees opportunities to improve processes rather than simply accepting that “this is how we’ve always done it.” **What You’ll Do** **Your responsibilities will include:** · Take an active role in daily cash management, including monitoring bank activity and recording electronic payments and receipts. · Manage key accounting functions, including accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, and cash receipts. · Develop and maintain cash flow analyses and provide timely weekly reporting. · Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare accurate supporting schedules. · Contribute to the preparation, analysis, and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. · Develop and maintain company-wide budgets and financial projections to support management decision-making. · Participate in retail and wholesale customer billing. · Assist with customer credit evaluations and account monitoring. · Monitor customer accounts, follow up on delayed payments, calculate finance charges, and prepare customer statements. · Review and reconcile monthly pipeline invoices for payment. · Gather, monitor, and prepare financial and operational information related to company-owned natural gas gathering systems. · Assist with the reconciliation and preparation of monthly producer payment reports. Because we are a collaborative organization, everyone contributes where needed. The position also includes occasional light administrative responsibilities, such as answering incoming calls and welcoming visitors. **What We’re Looking For** **Preferred qualifications:** · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. · 5+ years of professional accounting experience preferred. · Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. · Strong general ledger and account reconciliation experience. · Proficiency with Excel, accounting/general ledger systems, financial modeling, and other financial tools. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and changing priorities while meeting deadlines. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Oil and natural gas industry experience is helpful, but not required. Strong accounting experience, sound business judgment, and a willingness to learn our industry are more important. **Compensation** Compensation will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience, knowledge, qualifications, and overall fit for the position. **Benefits** Vineyard Oil & Gas Company offers a competitive benefits package that includes: · 401(k) · Health insurance · Dental insurance · Life insurance · Paid vacation · Paid holidays **Position Details** · Full-time, exempt position · On-site in North East, Pennsylvania · Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. · Additional hours may occasionally be necessary based on business needs and deadlines. **Why Vineyard Oil & Gas?** This isn’t a position where you’ll spend every day performing the same accounting function. You’ll have the opportunity tosee how the business operates, work across multiple areas of accounting and finance, and understand how your work contributes to company decisions and results For an experienced accountant who values variety, responsibility, stability, and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution, Vineyard Oil & Gas offers an opportunity to become an important part of an established company. If that sounds like the kind of accounting position you’ve been looking for, we’d like to hear from you.
