Job description from the source
We are currently working with an **industry leader in the Irish renewable energy sector** to strengthen their construction and engineering capabilities with the appointment of a Senior Civil Engineer. Our client is a **fully integrated IPP** , taking renewable energy projects from inception and development through construction and into long\-term operation. Their portfolio spans **onshore wind, solar, battery storage and associated grid infrastructure** , giving this person exposure to a genuinely diverse range of assets. With a strong track record of successful project delivery, an established multidisciplinary team and stable long\-term funding, this is an excellent opportunity to join one of Ireland's most established names in renewable energy and take ownership across major infrastructure projects. **The role** This is a **site\-led, client\-side engineering position** rather than a purely design\-focused role. You will act as the civil engineering representative across construction projects, working closely with EPC contractors, specialist subcontractors, network operators and internal project teams. **Responsibilities will include:** * Overseeing civil and construction delivery across renewable energy projects * Monitoring EPC and specialist contractors against approved designs, specifications and programmes * Identifying and resolving constructability, sequencing and access constraints * Coordinating underground grid and cable routes across public roads and private land * Supporting Road Opening Licences, traffic management, HDD, crossings and reinstatement works * Reviewing Temporary Works proposals, method statements and sequencing plans * Monitoring QA/QC, inspections, test plans and non\-conformance close\-out * Supporting as\-built records and project handover documentation * Reviewing civil requirements and substation design submissions * Working with network operators, Local Authorities, landowners and other project stakeholders * Providing visible Health \& Safety leadership on site **What we're looking for** * Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering * 5\+ years' post\-graduate civil engineering experience * Strong large\-scale civil or construction project delivery experience * Hands\-on site and contractor management experience * Experience across linear road works, utilities or constrained live environments * AutoCAD / Civil 3D experience * Ability to review and produce drawings, designs, site sketches and technical reports Experience across **renewable energy, grid infrastructure, substations, HV cables or underground utilities** would be particularly valuable. Exposure to **110 kV / 220 kV substations, Irish grid infrastructure, EPC, Design \& Build or FIDIC contracts** would also be advantageous. **Package \& benefits** * **€75,000 to €85,000 base salary** * **Private healthcare** * 25 days' annual leave plus 11 bank holidays * Annual cost\-of\-living salary review * Wellbeing fund and employee assistance programme * Learning \& development programmes * Professional subscriptions * Career development and mentoring * Family\-friendly policies * Two paid volunteer days per year * Sports and social clubs * Wider employee wellbeing and inclusion initiatives **Why join?** You'll be joining an organisation that **develops, builds, owns and operates its assets** , giving you far greater visibility across the full project lifecycle than you would typically get within a pure consultancy or contractor environment. For someone coming from **renewable energy, power infrastructure, utilities or major civil construction** , this offers the chance to move closer to the asset owner while working across some of Ireland's most important energy infrastructure projects.
