Job description from the source
**Location:** Remote **Employment Type:** Independent Contractor **Compensation:** Revenue share / commission **About Us** We are an early\-stage political technology startup building an AI\-powered campaign management platform specifically for *Conservative* political campaigns. Our founding team brings experience in campaigns, political fundraising, digital strategy, communications, and campaign operations. We have the political expertise, business vision, and product concept. **We're looking for the technical builder who can help us turn it into a real product.** **The Opportunity** We are seeking an experienced **Web** **Developer** to lead the development of our initial product. This is an **independent contractor opportunity compensated through a negotiated revenue\-share/commission arrangement rather than a traditional salary or hourly rate.** The ideal candidate is an experienced developer who wants to get involved at the ground floor of a startup and participate directly in the financial success of the product they help build. You will work directly with the founding team and have substantial ownership over the technical implementation of the platform. This is not a typical freelance project where you are handed a specification, complete the assignment, and move on to the next client. **We're looking for someone who wants to build something long term with us.** **What We're Building** The platform will combine a modern SaaS application with commercial AI/LLM APIs and campaign\-specific knowledge and workflows. The founding team has developed the initial business concept, target market, and product vision. You will help translate that vision into a production\-ready application and advise the team on technical architecture and implementation. **Responsibilities** You will take primary responsibility for the technical development of the MVP, including: * Designing the application's technical architecture * Building the frontend and backend * Developing the AI\-powered conversational interface * Integrating commercial LLM APIs * Developing campaign\-specific AI workflows * Building user authentication and account management * Designing and implementing the database * Integrating subscription and payment functionality * Building administrative functionality * Deploying the application to production * Maintaining and improving the product as it launches * Advising the founding team on technical decisions * Helping establish the technical roadmap as the product grows **Technical Requirements** We are looking for demonstrated experience with modern full\-stack development. Relevant experience includes: * React / Next.js or comparable frontend frameworks * JavaScript / TypeScript and/or Python * Backend/API development * PostgreSQL or other relational databases * Authentication and user management * Cloud deployment * Third\-party API integrations * SaaS application development ***AI / LLM Experience*** Experience building applications using modern AI models is strongly preferred. Experience with technologies such as: * OpenAI * Anthropic * Google Gemini * RAG * Vector databases * AI agents * Tool/function calling * Structured outputs * Prompt engineering * AI application architecture **You do not need to be an AI researcher or have trained a foundation model.** We are looking for someone who knows how to turn existing AI models into a reliable, useful software product. **Political Technology Experience** Political technology experience is preferred but not required. Experience with: * Conservative campaigns * Political consulting * Campaign technology * Political fundraising * Digital campaigning * Political data * Advocacy organizations * Conservative organizations Our company operates within the conservative political ecosystem, and the product is specifically designed for these campaigns. Candidates should be comfortable working in this environment and aligned with the company's mission. **Who We're Looking For** The ideal candidate is: * An experienced software engineer who has actually built and deployed products * Entrepreneurial and self\-directed * Comfortable working from a product vision rather than a fully defined technical specification * Capable of making and defending technical decisions * Excited about AI and emerging technology * Comfortable in an early\-stage startup environment * A strong communicator who can work directly with non\-technical founders * Interested in participating in the success of a product rather than simply billing hours * Someone who wants meaningful upside in exchange for taking on early\-stage risk **Most importantly, we're looking for a builder.** You don't need to know every technology we'll ultimately use. You do need to be capable of figuring out how to build the product and solving problems along the way. **Compensation** This is a **revenue\-share/commission\-based independent contractor opportunity.** There is no initial salary or hourly compensation. Instead, the selected contractor will receive an agreed percentage of revenue generated by the product, subject to the terms of a formal contractor agreement. The specific revenue\-share percentage, duration, payment structure, and other terms will be negotiated based on the candidate's experience, expected contribution, and level of involvement. The goal is to create an arrangement in which the developer's financial upside grows as the product succeeds. **This opportunity is intended for an entrepreneurial developer who seeks meaningful participation in the product's future revenue.** What We Bring The founding team brings: * Conservative campaign experience * Political fundraising expertise * Digital fundraising expertise * Campaign communications experience * Campaign strategy and operations experience * An established network within the political ecosystem * A defined target market * A developed product concept * A recurring\-revenue business model You will not be expected to figure out the political product by yourself. **We know the customer. We know the problem. We know the political environment. We need someone who can build the technology.** How to Apply Please submit: * Your resume or LinkedIn profile * A brief description of your full\-stack development experience * A brief description of your experience with AI/LLM APIs * A brief description of any political, campaign, or conservative\-organization experience (if applicable) * Your anticipated availability and level of commitment **Applicants are encouraged to include examples of previous technical work.** Pay: $1\.00 \- $200,000\.00 per year Work Location: Remote
