**Senior Software Engineer – Python / TypeScript** Location: Remote, North America; candidates in eligible U.S. regions and Canada preferred Job type: Contract Contract duration: 3 months Pay: $100–$150 per hour Schedule: At least 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week, including 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST) Start: Immediate availability preferred Openings: 100 About the role We’re seeking an experienced software engineer with strong technical judgment and an eye for quality to support AI data and evaluation projects. You’ll work with preference data, develop evaluation rubrics, and build infrastructure that supports data collection and evaluation. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, turns complex technical findings into actionable recommendations, and delivers effectively in a fast\-moving environment. Responsibilities * Design, refine, and improve rubrics and evaluation criteria for preference data. * Review and label data, identifying subtle quality issues. * Build and maintain pipelines and infrastructure for data generation, collection, and evaluation. * Summarize findings in clear technical write\-ups, updates, and recommendations. * Collaborate with researchers and engineers to turn qualitative judgments into scalable processes. Requirements * At least 5 years of proficiency in Python, particularly building and maintaining pipelines and infrastructure, or in TypeScript, Go, or JavaScript. * Hands\-on experience with preference data collection and/or rubric creation. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Sound judgment and the ability to explain what makes an example or output high quality. * Professional experience at leading technology companies and an educational background from a leading university. * Availability to meet the hours and time\-zone overlap requirements. * A résumé that includes a LinkedIn profile link. Experience contributing to or navigating large codebases, such as VS Code, is a plus.
