The **Senior Software Engineer** is a critical role responsible for taking ownership of critical backend services that power GetGo's carsharing platform — driving reliability, performance, and engineering excellence across a modern microservices stack on AWS/GCP. **How You Will Make An Impact** * Own the overall health, stability, and high availability of assigned services with minimal guidance to meet defined quality standards. * Monitor service metrics and identify bottlenecks, implementing optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability. * Regularly identify and propose solutions for improvements within your area of work to enhance system performance and developer experience. * Collaborate with Tech Leads and the SRE team to review changes, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and proactive issue detection. * Troubleshoot complex technical issues and conduct root cause analysis to implement preventive measures and avoid recurrence. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, participating in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality. * Document service operations and troubleshooting procedures to ensure knowledge sharing across the engineering team. **What Makes You A Great Fit** * Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., Golang, C#) and hands-on experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP). * Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyze complex technical challenges and implement practical, systemic solutions. * Effective Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Operational Excellence: Solid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless feature deployment. * Domain Knowledge: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of software design patterns and agile development methodologies. * Proven Track Record: 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a portfolio of shipped features or services running in production at meaningful scale. * You care about craft and culture — writing clean, maintainable code, supporting your teammates, and continuously pushing the quality bar higher — in line with our GetGo Values: + Driven by Purpose + Stay Curious and Humble + Collaborate with Empathy + Make it Better + Get It Going!
