Senior Hardware Design Engineer

All of the products and services that we offer are integral to the increasingly complex digital world in which we live, providing power and connectivity from the most common household items to the most complex medical equipment. **Role Purpose** Design and develop hardware architecture, power electronics, control circuitry and safety systems for Volex portable EV charging products. **Key Responsibilities:** **Hardware Design** * Develop schematic designs and PCB layouts. * Design AC/DC power conversion systems. * Design charging control and protection circuits. * Develop thermal management solutions. **Product Development** * Support concept, EVT, DVT, PVT and production stages. * Work closely with firmware engineers for system integration. **Compliance & Safety** * Design to UL, IEC, SAE and automotive requirements. * Participate in DFMEA, PFMEA and risk assessments. **Customer Program Support** * Support customer design reviews. * Resolve technical issues during beta programs. **Requirements:** **Experience** * 8+ years hardware design experience * Power electronics design experience **Technical Skills** * Altium Designer * OrCAD * LTSPICE * PLECS * MATLAB **Industry Knowledge** * EV Chargers * Battery Systems * Automotive Electronics * Industrial Power Supply Systems **Equal Opportunity Statement** Volex is committed to upholding fair, inclusive, and non-discriminatory employment practices.
