Job description from the source
**Senior AI Engineer – Agentic AI \& LLMs** **Salary: $180,000–$240,000** We are working with a fast\-growing, AI\-first technology business that is building production\-grade AI solutions for complex, real\-world industrial environments. They are looking for an experienced Senior AI Engineer to join a high\-performing team developing agentic AI systems that are already being used in operational environments. This isn't a research or proof\-of\-concept position. You'll be building and shipping AI systems into production, owning solutions from initial prototype through to deployment, evaluation and ongoing improvement. **The Role** You will: * Design and build sophisticated agentic AI workflows, including multi\-step reasoning, tool use, retrieval and orchestration. * Develop production applications using Claude, LangChain, LangGraph and other modern LLM technologies. * Build and maintain LLM evaluation frameworks, golden datasets and regression testing. * Develop production\-grade RAG and retrieval systems. * Implement observability, tracing and monitoring using tools such as LangSmith. * Decide where LLMs add genuine value and where deterministic software is the better solution. * Take AI products from prototype through to reliable production deployment. * Work closely with customers and end users to understand real operational problems and translate them into effective AI solutions. * Use modern AI coding tools including Claude Code and Cursor as part of your day\-to\-day engineering workflow. **What We're Looking For** You'll ideally have: * Strong commercial experience building production LLM/Generative AI applications. * Experience with AI agents, agentic workflows, tool calling and orchestration. * Strong experience with RAG and retrieval\-based architectures. * Experience with LLM evaluation, testing and production reliability. * Strong Python and/or TypeScript development skills. * Experience working with model APIs such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI or similar. * Strong software engineering fundamentals including Git, testing and CI/CD. * Experience taking AI applications beyond the prototype stage and operating them successfully in production. **Nice to Have** Experience with any of the following would be particularly valuable: * LangGraph / LangChain * LangSmith * Vector databases * Hybrid search and reranking * Fine\-tuning or model adaptation * Industrial, manufacturing, aviation, energy, utilities or field\-service environments * Open\-source AI projects or a portfolio of shipped AI products **Why Apply?** This is an opportunity to work on real production AI, rather than experimental GenAI projects that never progress beyond the demo stage. You'll join a small, highly capable team with significant ownership, working on agentic systems used to solve complex problems across asset\-heavy industries. Compensation: $180,000–$240,000 Interested? Apply today or contact me directly for a confidential discussion.
