Principal DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a motivated, career, and customer\-oriented Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team in Columbia, Maryland. #### **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES** * Support the development life cycle of platform architectural design, deployment and debugging * Building a release pipeline to enable fast, but safe delivery of critical business software to Production\\ * Develop \& Maintain sound version control best practicesbased CM systems (GIT), including branching and merging strategies * Serve as a technical lead for an Agile team and actively participate in all Agile ceremonies. Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives. * Ability to automate release deployments across development, test, staging, Quality Assurance and production stacks using a combination of scripting languages and other automation toolkits * Setup up new sites and applications via configuration management such as Puppet and Ansible * Maintain / upgrade/ patch tracking and documentation software (Confluence / Jira) * Create, Assist, and Implement design and maintenance web service infrastructure and deployments * Analyze service stack and make recommendations for further improvements * Identify processes and capabilities that can be streamlined and automated * Maintain confidentiality with regard to information being processed, stored, or accessed * Leverage programming Languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, and Java * Proficient with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering methodologies. * Proficient automating network infrastructure configuration using Software Defined Networking * Set up and configure a continuous integration environment by leveraging Configuration Management, containerization, serverless technologies, and Kubernetes. * Architect and develop best practices for software build tools (Gradle, Maven, ANT, Shell) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Bamboo), and infrastructure automation (Amazon Web Services, VMWare, Puppet, Chef, ansible, etc.) #### **REQUIRED SKILLS** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or additional 4 years of experience) * 10\+ years of DevOps, Systems Engineering, or related experience * Strong expertise with: * Git and version control best practices * Linux administration * Docker and Kubernetes * Jenkins and/or Bamboo * AWS cloud environments * Infrastructure Automation (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies #### **DESIRED SKILLS** * Experience with Python, Go, Java, Ruby, C\+\+, or similar programming languages * Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) * Experience supporting Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments * Elasticsearch (Kibana a plus) * Redis, ActiveMQ, Memcache, or similar technologies #### **SECURITY REQUIREMENT** * Current/Active TS/SCI with Polygraph. #### **Why Riverstone?** Riverstone invests in its employees with an exceptional benefits package, including: * 100% employerpaid medical, dental, and vision coverage * 100% Employerpaid life and disability insurance * Approximately 10% employer 401(k) contribution, fully vested immediately, with no employee contribution required * Five weeks of PTO \+ 10 Federal holidays * $3,000 annually for professional development * $1,200 annual phone and internet stipend * 5% annual performance or merit bonus * Referral bonuses from $8,000 to $16,000 Riverstone Enterprise Solutions, an Envision Company is an equal\-opportunity employer.
