Web Developer

We are looking for a Web Developer to own website builds, migrations, and integrations while applying solid technical judgment across a range of client projects. You'll drive development work from planning through launch, collaborate closely with Design, UX, and Project Management to bring sites to life, and act as a go\-to resource for less experienced developers while continuing to grow your own technical expertise. * Home * Web Developer **What Success Looks Like In This Role** ---------------------------------------- * **Drive Development Projects:** Lead new website builds, migrations, integrations, and other projects, using PHP, JavaScript, and Object\-Oriented Programming to deliver clean, functional solutions. * **Deliver Quality Work:** Thoroughly test and QA your own work — and where needed, the work of others — across devices and browsers, following TG development standards and QA processes to ensure work is ready before it ships. * **Build for Conversions:** Apply strong working knowledge of page speed, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, technical SEO, cross\-browser compatibility, and overall website performance to every project you touch. * **Write Clean, Reusable Code:** Consistently follow organized coding practices and established development standards, building reusable components, services, and patterns that others on the team can build on. * **Troubleshoot Independently:** Diagnose and resolve technical issues — bugs, plugin conflicts, performance problems, security concerns — with limited need for escalation, and know when a problem does warrant bringing in a Senior Developer. * **Manage Website Maintenance \& Support:** Independently manage the full range of Website Maintenance \& Support (WM\&S) requests — from content updates to routine fixes to more technically involved issues — meeting TG’s responsiveness and resolution expectations with minimal oversight. * **Estimate Your Work:** Provide accurate, well\-reasoned estimates in collaboration with Project Management and Senior Developers, and understand how development decisions affect project scope, budget, and deadlines. * **Own the Outcome:** Follow work through to resolution rather than considering a task complete once your portion is done. Communicate what’s needed next and help ensure the intended result. * **Communicate Early:** Proactively raise blockers, technical concerns, unexpected complexity, scope changes, or timeline risks before they create downstream problems. * **Collaborate Across Teams:** Work closely with Project Management, Accounts, Design, UX, SEO, Content, and Strategy to ensure development work supports the project and client’s larger goals. * **Work With Technical Partners:** Communicate directly with hosting providers, client IT teams, and other technology partners to troubleshoot issues and maintain system functionality. * **Improve How We Work:** Identify recurring issues, development inefficiencies, documentation gaps, and opportunities to make WM\&S and Development processes more effective, and help implement those improvements. * **Grow Into a Stronger Developer:** Continue building technical depth through mentorship from Senior Developers, feedback, and hands\-on experience, steadily taking on more complex and higher\-visibility work. * **Work Flexibly:** Work primarily remotely, camera\-ready from your dedicated workspace, and meet regularly with clients and internal teams. Collaborate and connect in person, as needed, at our St. Louis HQ. **What Sets You Up for Success** -------------------------------- * **U.S.\-based candidates only** * Ability to meet at TG headquarters in St. Louis, MO, as needed * 2–4 years of professional web development experience * Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript * Solid experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites * Experience working with WordPress themes, plugins, templates, and custom CMS functionality * Proficiency with Git version control * Strong understanding of responsive and cross\-browser development * Working knowledge of accessibility and W3C validation * Experience with website security and defensive programming best practices * Experience with website performance optimization and Core Web Vitals * Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills with the ability to work through issues independently * Organized coding practices and strong attention to detail * Proven ability to QA your own work thoroughly and consistently * Ability to manage multiple support requests, projects, and priorities in a fast\-paced agency environment * Strong communication skills and a track record of proactively surfacing questions, blockers, and risks * Comfortable giving and receiving feedback, including some mentorship of junior team members * A growth mindset and desire to take on increasingly complex development responsibilities **Nice to Have** ---------------- * Experience developing full websites from Figma designs * eCommerce development experience with WooCommerce, Magento, Shopify, or similar platforms * Solid experience with Object\-Oriented Programming * Familiarity with modern PHP coding standards * Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SCSS * Experience with Git and Bitbucket workflows * Experience with APIs and third\-party integrations * Experience with website migrations, DNS, SSL certificates, and domain configuration * Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, and website tracking implementations * Working knowledge of technical SEO best practices, including crawlability, redirects, schema, site architecture, and indexability * Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards *Timmermann Group participates in the E\-Verify program to confirm employment authorization of all newly hired employees.
