Job description from the source

Solvix Logistics is a Tennessee\-based freight brokerage built on transparency, speed, and operator mentality. We connect shippers and carriers through honest pricing, real\-time visibility, and reliability that the industry has learned to distrust from legacy brokers. Job Purpose As Business Development Manager at Solvix, you will own new customer acquisition and account growth. This role is heavily focused on prospecting, relationship building, and closing new business with shippers. You'll specialize in understanding shipper pain points—late pickups, unreliable carriers, opaque pricing—and delivering Solvix as the antidote. Your success directly multiplies your income through unlimited commission. You'll work in a fast\-moving environment with no committees, no red tape, and full support from operations to execute what you sell. Key Responsibilities * Own your pipeline. Prospect, qualify, and close new shipper accounts. Manage forecasting and hit your targets. * Identify shipper pain points. Understand what breaks their supply chain (carrier reliability, payment delays, visibility gaps) and position Solvix's speed, transparency, and carrier network as the solution. * Deliver consultative solutions. Educate prospects on Solvix's capabilities * Build trust through execution. Partner with operations to align sales promises with delivery. Be the advocate inside Solvix when customers need something; be the advocate inside the customer when Solvix needs to deliver. * Scale territory and team. Early hires could own a territory, build processes, and eventually manage a sales team as we grow. * Provide market feedback. Share what you hear from shippers—what's broken, what matters, what we should build next. Your voice shapes product and strategy. * Stay adaptable. Embrace the chaos of a startup scaling. Things change. You adapt. You propose ideas, we decide fast, you execute. What We're Looking For Sales Ability (Non\-Negotiable) * You've hit quota before. You know how to prospect, handle objections, and close. * You understand sales fundamentals: discovery, positioning, negotiation, follow\-up. * Logistics/freight experience is a plus, but raw sales ability matters most. Operator Mentality * You don't wait for process; you identify what's broken and fix it. * You give feedback early and often. You're coachable and want to get better every week. * You propose ideas. You take ownership. You don't blame systems or people. Comfort with Rejection \& Persistence * Cold calling doesn't scare you. You know most people say no. You call anyway. * You follow up relentlessly and professionally. Ownership Mindset * You want to build real income through commission—unlimited upside, no caps. * You're motivated by ownership, not politics. You want to own something (a territory, a segment, a process). Why Join Solvix Ground\-Floor Opportunity We're weeks old. The early sales hire could own a territory, build a team, and scale with the company. Unlimited Commission No caps. Hit the target, get paid. Your success directly multiplies your income. No politics, no approval committees, no annual reviews deciding whether you "deserve" a raise. No Red Tape We decide fast. You execute fast. You propose an idea Monday, we decide Tuesday, you execute Wednesday. No committee meetings or bureaucracy slowing you down. Operator Culture We hire people who think like operators, not just salespeople. You'll work alongside a leadership team with deep logistics experience. Your ideas will be heard. Your execution will matter. Qualifications Required * 2–5\+ years in sales, logistics, broker sales, or account management * Proven track record of hitting sales targets * Comfort with cold outreach (phone, email, in\-person) Preferred * Freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain experience * Familiarity with shipper pain points and carrier relationships * Experience with sales tools, CRM, or load boards Education * High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred Competencies * Strong sales execution. Prospecting, discovery, objection handling, closing, follow\-up. * Communication. Clear, honest, direct. You can explain complex logistics to non\-logistics people. * Negotiation. You find win\-win deals. You don't leave money on the table, but you don't burn bridges either. * Analytical mindset. You track your pipeline, forecast accurately, and optimize based on what works. * Ownership. You take responsibility. You don't blame the product, the market, or operations. You figure it out. * Collaboration. You work with operations, carriers, and shippers as partners—not adversaries. Compensation \& Benefits Compensation * Commission\-based role with unlimited upside * No cap; your income is directly tied to your success * Competitive base (if applicable) negotiated based on experience Benefits * Flexible work environment built for operators * Direct access to CEO and leadership team * Health insurance (details to be discussed) How to Apply Apply here or email travis@solvixlogistics.com with: * Your resume * 1–2 sentences on why you're a fit for Solvix and what you want to own (territory, segment, shipper vertical, etc.) What we're looking for in your note: Not fluff—just honesty. Why does this role appeal to you? What's your sales background? What part of the freight market do you want to own? Equal Opportunity Statement Solvix Logistics is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive and empowering environment where all team members thrive. Solvix Logistics LLC \| Tennessee \| FMCSA Authority Pay: $45,000\.00 \- $60,000\.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Work Location: Remote
