Job description from the source

We are seeking a **Medical Assistant** for a quality driven outpatient podiatry practice. **New graduates are welcome. Prior podiatry experience is not required.** We are willing to train the right person, but this is a **high\-standard position** and several traits are non\-negotiable. Before You Apply This role requires frequent, active communication with **patients, doctors, and coworkers throughout the day**. You may be naturally introverted or reserved. However, at work you must be able to consistently present yourself as **warm, confident, engaged, communicative, and professionally approachable**. If you routinely struggle to speak up, initiate conversation, engage patients, ask questions, or communicate actively with coworkers and physicians, **please do not apply**. Strong written communication is also required. You must make a consistent effort to use **correct grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and professional wording** in charting, internal messages, and patient communication. Carelessness with written communication is not acceptable. What We Can Teach We can teach you: * Podiatry * Our clinical workflows * Our scheduling system * Office procedures * How we expect tasks to be performed * How to become increasingly independent What we are looking for from the start is **reliability, communication, coachability, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly**. Minimum Qualifications * Completion of a Medical Assistant training program * Medical Assistant certification * Venipuncture ability * Bilingual English/Spanish * Typing speed of at least 45 WPM Compensation and Initial Evaluation **Pay range: $17–$25/hour based on demonstrated skill and progression.** All applicants who move forward in the hiring process will complete an **initial job\-related evaluation exam**. That assessment is used to determine the appropriate **starting training rate**. Most applicants should expect to begin at **$17/hour** while learning our office systems. Applicants who demonstrate unusually strong baseline knowledge and job\-related skills may qualify for a higher starting rate. After hire, compensation can increase as you demonstrate greater: * Accuracy * Independence * Clinical skill * Communication * Problem\-solving ability * Reliability * Mastery of our scheduling and office systems Higher compensation is earned through demonstrated capability, not simply time employed. Schedule The position begins **per diem** during training and evaluation, with opportunity to progress to full\-time based on performance and office needs. If you have struggled to find an opportunity because other employers require 2–3 years of experience, but you are capable, dependable, communicative, and quick to learn, we encourage you to apply. We are an equal opportunity employer and provide reasonable accommodation as required by law. Pay: $17\.00 \- $25\.00 per hour Benefits: * 401(k) * Employee discount * Free parking * Health insurance * Paid sick time * Paid time off * Profit sharing Language: * Spanish (Required) Work Location: In person
