Job description from the source

**Summary** We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team building backend APIs for cloud\-based applications. You'll work on microservice backends that manage data and algorithms for machining, including bringing CAM functionality from desktop applications into the cloud. Most of the work is new development. Some work involves adapting existing algorithms for cloud software, whether that means rewriting them or building the services around them. You'll take responsibility for the full software\-development lifecycle: understanding the problem, shaping the solution, implementing it, validating it and maintaining its quality. **Job Responsibilities** * Analyse requirements and design the architecture, implementation and structure of backend services. * Build and test C\# and ASP.NET Core services for cloud\-based applications. * Develop microservices that manage data and support machining algorithms and CAM functionality. * Add automated tests and take a quality\-focused approach to validation. * Participate in code reviews and work closely with other software engineers, development teams and product managers. * Contribute to modern development practices, including highly automated deployments and continuous delivery. * Use AI as part of the development workflow where it is useful. **Qualifications** **What we're looking for** * More than three years of professional software\-development experience. * Experience with C\# and ASP.NET Core. * Experience taking software from analysis and design through implementation, testing and validation, rather than focusing only on writing code. * An understanding of how microservices communicate, including synchronous and asynchronous approaches. * A strong attitude to software quality, including automated testing and code review. * Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team. **Helpful Experience** * Cloud, web\-development or microservices experience. * Experience with continuous delivery and automated deployments. * A degree, ideally in a STEM subject, is useful but not essential. **About The Team** You'll join an international development team of six software engineers and a product owner, based across the UK, Germany, Romania and China. The team collaborates across European time zones. The work helps customers make physical products. You'll be able to see the real\-world outcome of software that supports the parts they produce.
