Operational Controller

**Job Overview** Snyder Homes has been building new homes in Chittenden County for over 50 years. Snyder Homes is seeking a collaborative and detail\-oriented Operational Controller to oversee the financial operations within our organization. This pivotal role involves managing accounting functions and driving financial accuracy across all departments. The ideal candidate will operate as a hybrid financial and operational leader bridging the gap between the construction field and the back office. As an Operational Controller, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, streamlining processes, and supporting strategic decision\-making enabling Snyder Homes to achieve its goals. **Duties** * Oversee the preparation and analysis of all operational financial statements. * Manage month\-end and year\-end closing processes, including general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet review, and account analysis. * Monitor all loans including preparation of new loan packages and communication with bank personnel on an as\-needed basis. * Supervise accounts payable, ensuring timely processing and accuracy of all trade and vendor payments. * Conduct job cost accounting analysis to monitor expenses, optimize budgets, and support financial forecasting efforts. * Perform cash management activities including cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and loan monitoring. * Contractor and vendor management functions including insurance verification, workers' comp compliance, and timely Trade Partner payment. * Prepare detailed financial reports for monthly Leadership Team meetings. * Manage and maintain insurance coverage and prepare all information for annual insurance audits. * Hire, train, and manage Accounts Payable and Office Manager personnel. * Administer company payroll and benefits including 401(k) plan, sales associate commissions, and health insurance. **Skills** * Deep focus on detailed, day\-to\-day, operations of all accounting functions. * Strong Excel data analysis skills for financial modeling and reporting. * Expertise in financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, debits \& credits, general ledger accounting, and double entry bookkeeping. * Ability to coordinate and lead accounts payable team member, and office manager. * Skilled in financial report writing with an emphasis on clear\-communication and precision; experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial management. * Excellent analytical and communication skills. * Ability to openness to different approaches with software and processes.
