Medical Assistant

Candidates must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate should have clinical experience and a job history exhibiting stability and longevity. This position is located at Baptist Health Campus in Medical Towers 1. **The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive:** * Serve as a patient advocate during patient exams and treatment. * Recording medical history and confirming the purpose of the visit. * Ensure proper documentation is obtained prior to preparing the patient for treatment. * Prepares patients for examination. * Help providers examine and treat patients. Many hands-on elements such as blood draws, injections, wound care, and assisting during procedures are a requirement for this position. * HIPAA compliance and safe OSHA practices. * Maintain accurate electronic charts in EHR. * Patient Education. * Returning patient phone calls. * Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies. * Collecting, documenting, and delivering lab specimens. **Medical Assistant/ Nurse Skills and Qualifications:** * Willingness to learn new skills. * Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients. * Organization. * Possess a strong work ethic and high level of professionalism * Confidentiality. * Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients. * Practices teamwork. **Medical Specialty:** Dermatology. **Schedule:** 8-hour shift. May have to travel for training to one of our other offices.
