### **Assignment Overview** * Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs * Hours: 48 hrs/wk * Start Date: Oct 12, 2026 * Length: 13 weeks * Openings: 1 ### **Description** American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on nights requiring a VA or compact license, Epic experience, and prior Med/Surg background. ### **Details** * 26\-bed General Medicine Unit treating respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious disease, and renal conditions * Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00\-07:00\) * 13\-week assignment with option for 36 or 48 hours per week * Every other weekend required, plus 2 of the 3 winter holidays * Block scheduling not guaranteed * Patient ratio of 1:4 * Must adhere to facility float policy, floating within scope of practice as needed ### **Requirements** * Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date) * BLS certification required; ACLS preferred * Minimum 2 years of RN experience required * BSN preferred * Epic charting experience required * Previous charge nurse experience preferred * Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred * Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and renal management preferred ### **Additional Information** * Care for patients with a variety of complex disease processes across multiple body systems * Complete specialty\-specific orientation modules during onboarding * Unable to approve time off around Christmas; maximum 40 hours of RTO per contract * No radius restriction for this unit * Previous UVA permanent staff or travelers must have a 1\-year separation and leadership approval before returning * External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility * First\-time travelers may be considered for this role
