Structural Engineer

**Job Overview** As a Structural Engineer, you’ll turn project requirements into safe, practical structural solutions. You’ll perform structural analysis, develop designs, and coordinate with project teams from early planning through construction. Your work may involve steel, concrete, and masonry systems, with designs guided by applicable building codes and construction regulations. **Responsibilities** * Develop structural designs and system concepts; complete structural analysis using appropriate tools, including finite element analysis (FEA) where applicable. * Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical writing using computer-aided design (CAD) software and building information modeling (BIM) tools. * Review building code requirements, support code compliance, and coordinate design details with clients, architects, contractors, and other engineers. * Contribute to project management and project scheduling; support project engineering, construction coordination, and field reviews. * Your impact: Clear, code-conscious designs help project teams build reliable structures and give clients confidence in their projects. **Experience** * Knowledge of civil engineering, structural engineering practices, building code analysis, and construction regulations; construction experience is useful. * Familiarity with CAD and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or Bluebeam; experience with Mathcad and other structural analysis tools is also relevant. * Ability to apply steel, concrete, and masonry structural design principles, with an understanding of geotechnical engineering. * Strong client communication and technical writing skills; GIS experience is a plus. * Project management, project scheduling, and building information modeling experience are helpful.
