Core Responsibilities Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Handle production alerts| investigate root causes| resolve outages| and lead post-incident reviews to prevent future failures. Automation & Toil Reduction: Write code and scripts (using languages like Python| Java| or Ruby) to automate manual operations| routine maintenance| and system deployments. Monitoring & Observability: Track system health using metrics| logs| and traces to measure latency| traffic| errors| and saturation via the AWS SRE Guide. Reliability Standards: Define and manage Service-Level Objectives (SLOs)| Service-Level Indicators (SLIs)| Service-Level Agreements (SLAs)| and error budgets to balance speed with stability. Capacity Planning: Analyze user traffic and usage patterns to forecast future hardware and infrastructure demands.
