Job description from the source

**About the Role** Catbird, a DTC jewelry company, is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting operations. Reporting to the Controller, you’ll gain hands-on experience across accounts payable, inventory accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close, using NetSuite and Ramp. This is an opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career accountant to build a strong accounting foundation and learn how a vertically integrated jewelry business operates. This full-time, hybrid position is based at our Brooklyn Navy Yard headquarters. ### **Key Responsibilities** * Maintain daily bank matching in NetSuite, review corporate card transactions for accurate coding and supporting documentation, and assist with merchant processor chargebacks. * Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for the annual financial statement audit. * Prepare bank, credit card and assigned balance sheet reconciliations; prepare recurring journal entries, accruals and prepaid expense schedules; and assist with close activities. * Aid our AP support team by processing and coding vendor invoices, matching inventory purchases to purchase orders and receipts, reconciling vendor statements, and coordinating with our AP support team and external team in India to process approved payments through Ramp. * Help document accounting procedures, identify opportunities to improve recurring workflows, and support finance systems projects in NetSuite and Ramp. * Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives across the finance team and broader company as needs arise. ### **Our Ideal Candidate** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. * 0–2 years of accounting experience; internships count. * Understanding of accounting fundamentals, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations. * Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets. * Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to meet recurring deadlines. * Clear written and verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating with teams outside finance. * Curiosity, willingness to learn and a proactive approach to solving problems. * Experience with NetSuite or retail/ecommerce accounting is a plus. Compensation: $66,500 / year
