This position is responsible for overall hotel profitability, guest and associate satisfaction, operational efficiency, brand compliance and the condition of each hotel. Working closely with property leadership and corporate teams, the Area General Manager develops and executes operating strategies aligned with ownership and brand objectives, builds strong management teams and ensures consistent follow-through on financial and operational priorities. The role requires a visible presence at assigned hotels, sound independent judgment and a commitment to delivering measurable results. **Job Responsibilities:** *Multi-Property Operations & Execution* * Lead operations across assigned hotels, including rooms, housekeeping, front office, maintenance, food and beverage, banquets and sales where applicable; establish priorities and performance expectations aligned with company, ownership and franchise objectives. * Maintain a visible, hands-on presence during peak periods, special events, guest issues and operational challenges; provide direct guidance to property management teams. * Conduct routine property walks, departmental reviews and inspections; document deficiencies, identify root causes, assign corrective actions and verify lasting resolution. * Coordinate staffing, resources and operational support among hotels; communicate promptly with property and corporate leadership on emerging needs and priorities. * Lead assigned pre-openings, transitions, conversions and special initiatives, ensuring readiness, accountability and timely execution. *Financial Management, Budgets & Controls* * Own financial results across assigned hotels, with accountability for profitability, labor productivity, controllable expenses and approved operating goals. * Lead annual operating budgets and support capital budgets and business plans; coach hotel leaders to use financial data and balance cost control with service. *Sales, Marketing & Revenue Management* * Actively guide sales, marketing, business development and revenue strategies to improve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share and profitable revenue. * Partner with sales and revenue teams on pricing, business mix, booking pace, channels, group opportunities and market trends; participate in regular commercial calls. * Establish and monitor sales goals and marketing plans; hold leaders accountable for execution and measurable results. * Evaluate group and negotiated business for total hotel profitability, operational impact and guest experience—not production volume alone. * Maintain key client, partner and community relationships and pursue new business opportunities. *Guest Satisfaction, Brand Standards & Quality Assurance* * Set consistent guest service expectations and monitor satisfaction scores, brand reports, reviews and other feedback to identify and correct recurring issues. * Ensure compliance with franchise standards, quality assurance programs, company policies and applicable service and safety requirements. * Prepare hotels for brand inspections; review findings, assign corrective actions and verify completion. * Model excellent guest service, support VIP and key-account experiences, resolve significant complaints and coach teams on guest-facing service behaviors. *People Leadership, Human Resources & Development* * Recruit, select, coach, evaluate and develop hotel management teams; strengthen leadership capabilities and succession planning across assigned properties. * Establish clear accountability for General Managers and department leaders through objectives, action plans, regular follow-up and documented performance reviews. * Oversee staffing, scheduling, orientation, training, cross-training and professional development to meet business and service needs. * Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, investigations, staffing decisions and policy compliance; address concerns fairly and promptly. * Foster an inclusive, respectful work environment and lead by example in professionalism, communication, composure and sound decision-making. *Property Condition, Capital Projects, Safety & Asset Protection* * Protect asset condition through regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, grounds and mechanical spaces;
