Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for our Enterprise Platforms Engineering team who demonstrates a strong commitment to engineering excellence, communicates effectively, and can work with teams with various levels of experience to help create solutions to a wide range of problems. This role will be responsible for the design, build, and delivery of software development infrastructure to support Singtel internal tools and platform development. Partnering closely with different teams in Singtel, this position will help direct project teams toward automated codebase deployment that satisfies business needs and aligns with Singtel’s IT & Security strategy. You should be someone who brings new thinking and is motivated by the challenge of driving change and adopting new technologies. The successful candidate will champion the application of industry best practices, cloud architecture strategies, and engineering standards to ensure successful cloud solutions across a wide variety of projects. This role will help drive technology standards, evolution, and governance for cloud, and as required, will evolve cloud standards to address emerging business requirements. **Responsibilities** * Platform Engineering & Delivery: Design, build, deploy and operate highly available platform environments across on-premises, private cloud and public cloud infrastructure. Support end-to-end customer/platform delivery from infrastructure readiness through production handover. * Kubernetes & Infrastructure Operations: Deploy, administer, upgrade and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters, Linux systems, virtualization, networking, storage, load balancers and supporting platform services. * Automation & GitOps: Automate infrastructure and application deployment using Terraform, Ansible, scripting, CI/CD and GitOps/ArgoCD, reducing manual operations and improving consistency. * Production Reliability: Monitor production environments, respond to incidents, perform structured troubleshooting and RCA, and implement preventive improvements. Maintain HA, backup, restore and DR capabilities. * Security & Compliance: Perform vulnerability remediation, patching, security hardening, certificate/secrets management and access-control reviews, working with security teams to address CVE/CIS/audit findings. * Lifecycle Management: Manage OS, Kubernetes and platform component upgrades, patching, certificates and technology end-of-life remediation. * Delivery Ownership: Proactively identify blockers, dependencies and delivery risks, communicate them early, and drive cross-team resolution to meet project and customer commitments. * Operational Readiness: Produce SOPs, runbooks, architecture/deployment documentation, RCA reports and operational handover materials; provide knowledge transfer to support teams. * Technical Leadership: Mentor engineers, establish engineering standards, evaluate technologies and continuously improve automation, reliability, security and ways of working. **Requirements** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience * Minimum 8+ years of relevant IT experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertise, with strong hands-on experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE or Infrastructure Engineering. * Hands-on experience in Linux/Ubuntu and Kubernetes administration, operations and troubleshooting. * Understanding of networking and connectivity troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, NAT, firewall, VPN, load balancing and TLS. * Experience with IaC, configuration automation, CI/CD and GitOps, using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins and ArgoCD or equivalent. * Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash or equivalent, with good Git fundamentals. * Experience with production operations, monitoring/observability, incident troubleshooting, RCA and service recovery. * Working knowledge of security hardening, vulnerability remediation, access control, secrets and certificate management. * Ability to independently troubleshoot unfamiliar issues, identify blockers early and drive resolution across application, infrastructure, network, security and vendor teams. * Experience or exposure to on-premises virtualization, distributed storage, public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and bare-metal provisioning. * Familiarity with supporting platform technologies such as API gateways, databases, Vault, Kafka and service mesh; relevant Kubernetes/Linux/cloud certifications are advantageous. **Your Career Growth Starts Here.
