Assistant Jr. Toddler Teacher

**Job Overview** As an Assistant Jr. Toddler Teacher, you’ll help create a safe, welcoming classroom where toddlers can explore, learn, and build confidence. You’ll support daily care, teaching, and classroom routines while partnering with the lead teacher and families. This role is suited to someone who enjoys working with young children and brings patience, clear communication, and a hands-on approach. **Duties** * Support toddler care, classroom management, and age-appropriate behavior management throughout the day. * Assist with lesson planning and curriculum development, including early literacy, math, physical activity, and child development instruction. * Encourage childhood development through play, routines, and activities that support children’s learning and social skills. * Communicate with parents about children’s daily experiences and share relevant observations with the teaching team. * Follow child welfare practices, mandated reporting laws, and classroom safety procedures. Your impact: attentive care and engaging activities help toddlers feel secure and give families confidence in their children’s daily learning. **Experience** * Experience working with children, childcare, classroom experience, or teaching experience with young children is valuable; preschool experience, preschool teaching, and private school experience are helpful. * Knowledge of early childhood education, toddler care, literacy education, and teaching is preferred. * Familiarity with special education and early intervention approaches is an asset. * Strong communication skills and experience working with students are important. Standardized testing experience and experience teaching physical education may be useful but are not central to this role. * First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training are preferred.
