Job description from the source

My client, a **tier-1 buyside firm** , is hiring multiple C# Software Engineers across all seniority levels for its Sydney team. Engineers from tech firms are welcome—no previous finance or trading experience is required. You’ll work alongside traders, researchers and engineers to develop the services, real-time systems and applications supporting the firm’s trading business. **About the role** This opportunity brings together backend engineering and trading-facing application development. Depending on your experience and interests, you’ll contribute to platforms covering market data, trading analysis, transaction monitoring and real-time communication. **Key responsibilities** * Develop and enhance C#/.NET applications, from backend services to user-facing tools. * Own features throughout the delivery lifecycle, from understanding requirements to testing and production deployment. * Improve system performance, reliability and scalability. * Investigate technical issues and implement sustainable solutions. * Collaborate directly with trading, research and engineering teams. * Strengthen development practices through automation, testing and tooling improvements. **What we’re looking for** * 5+ years of C# development experience with sound programming fundamentals. * An understanding of object-oriented design, debugging and maintainable software. * Familiarity with backend systems; exposure to multithreading or performance optimisation is advantageous. * Strong problem-solving and communication skills. * A degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field. * An interest in learning about trading technology—not prior financial industry experience. Please send your CV to Wisely Collin at wisely.collin@ashford-benjamin.com, or call +852 2315 9517 for a confidential discussion.
