Network Test Engineer

**Job Title: Software Eng Systems Level 2 - Networking** **Address: 1 Allen Bradley Drive, Mayfield Heights, Ohio 44124** **Duration:12+months contract role - possible to extend more 3-6 moths** **Pay rate: $46.50 hr on w2 without benefit's** **Client : Rockwell Automation.** **Responsibilities** * Contribute to team planning and status meetings to clarify priorities, assignments, and expected deliverables. * Execute routine functional testing with off-the-shelf and proprietary security tools, using white-box/grey-box/black-box techniques, to discover new security vulnerabilities. * Analyzes complex problems, records encountered issues, and documents findings for future resolutions. * Collaborate with developers to analyze and define discovered problems. * Create new test assets and cases to address evolving product or system requirements. * Contributes to the development of automation strategies and frameworks. * Build and expand knowledge of testing methodologies and practices. * Continuously enhance expertise in functional test development processes. * Assess challenges and explore solutions by consulting subject matter experts, ensuring decisions are evidence-based throughout product development. * Define timelines for assigned tasks/projects and monitor progress against them. * Apply testing tools and techniques to achieve comprehensive functional coverage. * Deliver informal technical presentations to small groups on specialized topics. * Stay informed on emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and IT/OT best practices. * Show curiosity toward new technologies and products that could enhance Rockwell’s offerings, while consistently learning and refining skills. * Record and summarize testing results. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Science. * At least 3 years of experience in software testing or development. * Solid understanding of computer networks and communication protocols. * Experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting network implementations. * Expert-level technical background in High-complexity Networking solutions and implementation strategies and understanding of IT and OT convergence. * Background in Test, specifically in testing of ethernet networks and test environment design for ethernet networks. * Experience with network technologies including (STP, VLANs, DTP, VTP, IGMP, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, Flex links, ACLs, DLR, PRP, HSR, MRP…) * Experience with Security related concepts, protocols fuzzing tools and PSIRT process * Experience with Cisco IE/Stratix networking switches and routers. * Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks * Knowledge of industrial control systems * Strong written and spoken English communication skills. Pay: $45.00 - $46.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Experience: * software testing or development: 4 years (Preferred) * network technologies: 3 years (Preferred) * Cisco Switches and routers: 3 years (Preferred) * Stratix switches: 3 years (Required) * White box and black box testing: 3 years (Preferred) Work Location: In person
