**Senior Project Manager** **Wellington \| Contract opportunity** Are you a senior, delivery\-focused Project Manager with experience leading complex initiatives in a New Zealand public\-sector, regulatory or operational environment? We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead an important regulatory\-enablement pilot for a cross agency project. It is an opportunity to establish a new interagency way of working and take a practical solution from mobilisation through governance, testing, readiness and pilot delivery. This is not a policy role, and it is not a hands\-on technical/digital Project Manager position. We are looking for a confident delivery lead who can bring structure to ambiguity, align multiple sponsors and stakeholders, manage cost and momentum, and ensure the pilot is delivered on time. **The opportunity** Working with a core project team of approximately eight people, you will establish the delivery governance and reporting needed to move the work forward. You will coordinate inputs from operational, regulatory, technical, data, communications and testing contributors, ensuring everyone is clear on accountabilities, timing, risks and decisions. **Key responsibilities** · Lead the mobilisation, planning and delivery of a cross\-agency regulatory\-enablement pilot. · Establish and maintain an effective governance structure involving multiple sponsors and senior stakeholders. · Develop and manage the integrated project plan, milestones, workstreams, risks, issues, dependencies and decision log. · Lead, coordinate and support a core project team of approximately eight people. · Manage project budget, cost tracking, forecasting and delivery trade\-offs. · Coordinate testing, operational readiness, feedback loops, issue resolution and go/no\-go activity. · Develop clear, decision\-ready project dashboards and governance reporting. · Lead the project communications and stakeholder\-engagement workstream. · Work closely with internal digital, operational and regulatory teams, · Support pilot evaluation, **About you** You will be an experienced Senior Project Manager who is comfortable operating in complex environment. You combine sound delivery discipline with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders and keep diverse teams focused on practical outcomes. To be successful, you will bring: · Significant senior project\-management experience, ideally within the New Zealand public sector, a regulatory agency or another complex operational environment. · Experience delivering a new service, process, system, operating model or regulatory initiative through pilot, testing, implementation or rollout. · Demonstrated experience leading cross\-functional and/or cross\-agency programmes involving multiple stakeholders and sponsors. · Strong governance capability, including preparing steering\-group materials, facilitating decisions and maintaining clear delivery accountability. · Proven financial\-management experience, including budget management, cost tracking, forecasting and supplier or vendor coordination. · Confidence managing delivery risks, interdependencies, scope changes and competing stakeholder priorities. · Experience coordinating user testing, operational readiness, implementation activities or phased releases. · Strong written communication skills, including the ability to create clear dashboards, concise status reports and practical communications for affected teams. · The ability to lead and motivate a small, multidisciplinary project team. · Familiarity with government assurance, procurement, reporting and delivery disciplines.
