Senior Android Engineer **Location:** Remote \- US **Compensation:** $200,000–$235,000 base \+ equity **Type:** Full\-time **The Company** We’re partnering with a high\-growth consumer health technology company building intelligent hardware and software used in the home. Their product combines real\-time biometric sensing, connected hardware and software to understand users and automatically adjust their environment. The company has built a significant proprietary dataset and is investing heavily in using AI to deliver increasingly personalised health experiences. The business is well funded, growing quickly and already operating at meaningful consumer scale. **The Role** They’re looking for a **Senior Android Engineer** to join a small mobile team and take significant ownership of their Android application. This is a hands\-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys building polished consumer products and wants more ownership than they would typically get within a larger engineering organisation. You’ll work closely with iOS, backend, firmware, product and design engineers on an application that sits at the centre of the customer experience. What You’ll Work On * Build and ship high\-quality native Android features using **Kotlin** * Own features from initial design through architecture, implementation and release * Develop polished, responsive consumer\-facing UI * Improve application architecture, performance, reliability and maintainability * Work closely with connected hardware, backend services and real\-time device data * Collaborate directly with product and design on the user experience * Help shape engineering standards and technical decisions across a small mobile team * Use modern AI development tools to increase engineering velocity What They’re Looking For * Strong professional experience building **native Android applications** * Deep knowledge of **Kotlin** and the modern Android ecosystem * Experience with modern UI frameworks such as **Jetpack Compose** * Strong understanding of Android architecture and application lifecycle * Experience shipping and maintaining consumer applications at scale * Ability to take genuine end\-to\-end ownership rather than working on narrowly defined tickets * Strong product instincts and attention to UI detail * Clear technical communication and the ability to explain engineering decisions and trade\-offs * Comfortable operating in a fast\-moving, high\-ownership environment Experience with connected devices, IoT, Bluetooth/BLE, health technology or consumer hardware is useful, but **not essential** . Strong Android and consumer product engineering experience is the priority. **Environment** The mobile team is intentionally small, so individual engineers have considerable influence over both the product and technical direction. Engineers are expected to understand the problem they are solving, make decisions independently and communicate their thinking clearly rather than simply execute predefined requirements.
