City League partners with schools to provide organized athletic opportunities that promote movement, connection, confidence, healthy development, and positive school experiences. Position Overview The **Programs & Operations Coordinator** will provide broad-based support to the Commissioner and City League's school-based athletic programs. This position is designed for a highly organized, collaborative, and adaptable individual who enjoys working across multiple areas of a growing nonprofit organization. The Coordinator will contribute to **program coordination, event planning and execution, school and coach communication, marketing and social media, administrative operations, and other organizational priorities** as needed. Because City League is a growing organization, this position will require someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, taking initiative, solving problems, and helping move projects from planning to execution. Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Coordination * Support the planning and implementation of City League athletic programs throughout the school year. * Assist with communication and coordination among participating schools, athletic directors, coaches, officials, partners, and vendors. * Help maintain program schedules, rosters, calendars, and other program information. * Support coaches and schools with program-related questions and needs. * Assist with preparation for practices, competitions, tournaments, clinics, and other program activities. * Help identify and address logistical needs and program challenges. * Support the implementation of new and pilot programs. Events & Special Programs * Assist with planning and execution of City League events, tournaments, showcases, fundraisers, and community events. * Coordinate event logistics, supplies, volunteers, vendors, partners, signage, and other details as assigned. * Assist with event-day setup, execution, and breakdown. * Help document events through photographs, video, stories, and other content. * Support the Commissioner with special projects and organization-wide initiatives. Communications & Marketing * Assist with regular communication to schools, coaches, families, partners, and the broader City League community. * Help create and distribute newsletters, announcements, program updates, and other communications. * Support City League's social media presence through content creation, scheduling, photography, video, and storytelling. * Assist with promoting programs, events, registration opportunities, and organizational initiatives. * Help maintain consistent City League branding and messaging across communications. * Collect and share stories, photos, quotes, and other content that demonstrate City League's impact. Administrative & Organizational Support * Provide day-to-day administrative and organizational support to the Commissioner. * Help maintain calendars, files, spreadsheets, program documentation, and other organizational systems. * Assist with tracking deadlines, action items, registrations, participation, and other program data. * Support preparation of materials for meetings, presentations, events, and board or partner communications. * Assist with research, outreach, and special projects as assigned. * Help improve systems and processes as City League continues to grow. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is: * **Highly organized** and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. * **Proactive** and willing to identify what needs to be done rather than waiting for direction. * **Adaptable** and comfortable working across programs, events, communications, and administrative responsibilities. * **A strong communicator** who can build positive relationships with schools, coaches, partners, families, and community members. * **Collaborative** and comfortable working as part of a small, entrepreneurial nonprofit team. * **Detail-oriented** while also able to see the bigger picture. * **Comfortable with technology**, including email, spreadsheets, shared documents, social media platforms, and online program-management systems. * **Mission-driven** and enthusiastic about youth development and school sports. * Comfortable working occasional evenings and weekends when required for tournaments, events, or other City League activities. Qualifications **Required:** * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. * Ability to work independently and take initiative. * Proficiency with common digital tools and social media platforms. * Experience working with youth, schools, sports, nonprofits, events, communications, or a related field. * Ability to pass a fingerprint and background screening. **Preferred:** * Experience in youth sports, school athletics, nonprofit organizations, event planning, communications, or marketing. * Experience creating social media content, photography, video, or graphic design. * Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders or community partners. * Familiarity with St. Louis schools and community organizations. * Bachelor's Degree Important Considerations Because this position will work across multiple City League programs and schools and will have access to information and relationships involving participating schools, **individuals currently serving as City League coaches, athletic directors, or school administrators may not be an appropriate fit for this position due to potential conflicts of interest or competing responsibilities.** City League will consider potential conflicts on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, while this is a part-time position, it is designed to be an **active and flexible 20-hour-per-week role** rather than a position that can easily be completed around a rigid full-time work schedule. The workload and schedule will vary throughout the year based on program and event needs. Candidates who have full-time employment with limited schedule flexibility may find it challenging to meet the expectations of the position. Work Schedule This is an **eight-month, seasonal, part-time position** running from October 2026 through May 2027. The position is expected to average approximately **20 hours per week**. The schedule will be flexible and may include a combination of remote/office work, school visits, meetings, program activities, and event responsibilities. Because City League programs and events often take place outside traditional business hours, some **evening and weekend availability** will be required. The schedule may vary from week to week depending on the organization's program and event calendar. Compensation **$25,000 for the eight-month seasonal position**, paid in equal monthly payments. This is a **part-time employee position**, not an independent contractor position. Why This Role Matters City League is growing, and this position will play an important role in helping the organization translate ideas into action. The Coordinator will work closely with the Commissioner and have the opportunity to contribute across many areas of the organization while helping create meaningful athletic experiences for St. Louis youth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys **people, youth sports, community, creativity, organization** Pay: $3,125.00 per month Benefits: * Flexible schedule Work Location: Hybrid remote in St. Louis, MO 63116
