The Assistant Manager supports the Dining Manager by helping coach, counsel, and/or discipline employees. They will aid in developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. **What Five Star Has To Offer** * Paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick days. * 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match. * Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans (individual and family coverage). * Voluntary FSA, life insurance, and short/long-term disability options. * Opportunity to support our 501(c)3 charity, Feeding the Future, Inc., which provides over 500,000 meals annually to children in need. * Opportunities for advancement. **Key Responsibilities** * Support daily dining operations to ensure excellent food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards. * Supervise, train, coach, and provide direction to dining team members, including food service workers, cooks, cashiers, and shift leads. * Assign and monitor daily work activities while maintaining adequate staffing levels and workflow efficiency. * Prepare and serve food in accordance with established recipes, portion standards, and food safety guidelines. * Operate POS systems and perform cashiering duties, order entry, and cash handling accurately. * Monitor food quality, presentation, inventory levels, and dining area cleanliness to support an exceptional guest experience. * Address customer concerns promptly and professionally while promoting high service standards. * Assist with scheduling, inventory management, receiving deliveries, and opening/closing procedures. * Serve as acting manager in the absence of the Dining Unit Manager and support overall operational success. **Required Qualifications** * Associates degree and two years of food service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * One year of management experience. * Must be able to lift 50 pounds. * Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the day. * Must be able to consent to a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
