Client Service Representative/Animal Care Technician/Community Outreach Coordinator

Columbia Animal Shelter is seeking an energetic, compassionate, dependable individual to join our team in a unique full\-time position combining client services, hands\-on animal care, and community outreach. This is not a desk\-only position. Our ideal candidate is someone who can comfortably move from helping a client at the front desk, to answering phones, to assisting with the care of shelter cats, and then helping coordinate a community event or volunteer activity. **What You’ll Do** In this role, you will: · Provide friendly, professional service to adopters, veterinary clients, donors, volunteers, and members of the community. · Answer phones and respond to emails · Maintain accurate shelter and veterinary client records. · Assist with the daily care of shelter cats, including feeding, cleaning, socialization, and basic medical care as directed by our veterinary team. · Administer medications and assist with treatment plans under veterinary supervision. · Work closely with shelter staff, veterinary staff, volunteers, and community partners. · Coordinate community outreach activities and help with shelter events · Organizing and communicating with volunteers participating in outreach programs. · Represent Columbia Animal Shelter professionally and positively in the community. **Who We’re Looking For** We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, adaptable, and able to multitask in a busy environment. You should be comfortable working with both people and animals, able to remain professional during stressful situations, and willing to jump in wherever the day requires. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential. Previous animal shelter, veterinary, customer service, nonprofit, or community outreach experience is a strong recommendation. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who understands that shelter work is a team effort and who wants to be an active part of that team. **Schedule \& Benefits** · Full time, 40 hours per week · Five shifts per week · Regular schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, off Sunday and Monday · Vacation coverage as needed · Day and evening hours · Saturday availability is required · Some holiday coverage is required and shared among the shelter and veterinary teams · Two weeks of paid vacation, accrual begins after 90 days of employment **About Columbia Animal Shelter** Columbia Animal Shelter is a nonprofit organization serving animals and people through sheltering and adoption, affordable veterinary services, community cat programs, humane education, and community outreach.
