Backend Developer (TypeScript / Node.js) carz.dev · \[Remote / Miami, FL] · \[Part\-time / Contract / Full\-time] · \[Pay range] About carz.dev carz.dev is an AI car\-spotting app. Snap a photo of any car to instantly get its specs and market value, climb the leaderboard, hunt rare cars around Miami, and buy and sell cars through live in\-app auctions. We're launching on iOS in October 2026, with Android next. We're a small, founder\-led team, and this role owns the backend as the product takes off. What you'll do * Build our auction engine, including real\-time bidding, auto\-bid, auction timing, and member early access * Own payments with Stripe, including memberships, seller fees, and payouts * Own our Postgres (Neon) data model and the APIs behind our web, iOS, and Android apps * Scale our AI features (photo car ID, AI car assistant, image generation) for speed, cost, and fallbacks * Build listing verification, including VIN decoding and stolen\-vehicle checks * Ship car alerts and push notifications * Keep everything secure and reliable, including auth, rate limiting, secrets, logging, and monitoring What we're looking for * Strong coding skills * Great at vibe coding: you build and ship fast with AI tools like Claude Code or Cursor What we offer * Flexible schedule * Big impact: you own the backend, and your code reaches real users fast * \[Optional: equity] * Free Carz\+ membership How to apply Apply with your resume plus a link to your GitHub or something you've built (vibe\-coded projects count). carz.dev is an equal opportunity employer.
