GIS Officer

**DUE: 05 NOV 2026** **URBAN PLANNING DEPARTMENT** Applications are Invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the below-mentioned vacant positions, which have fallen vacant in the Urban Planning Department. **GIS OFFICER** The incumbent will be reporting to the Urban Planning Manager. **Qualifications/Requirements** Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems. 4 years of experience working with GIS Must be 30 years old and above **Key Duties and Responsibilities** Managing geospatial data related to the Municipality’s assets, infrastructure and land parcels. Collecting, updating and organising spatial data from various sources such as surveys, aerial imagery and field data. Creating maps and visualizing for various departments and stakeholders. Developing thematic zoning utility maps and other spatial representations. Performing spatial analysis to support urban planning activities. Analysing demographic data, land use patterns, transportation networks among other spatial factors. Integrating geospatial data with other Municipal systems and database. Providing training and technical support to staff members who use GIS software and tools. Any other duties as assigned by the Urban Planning Manager.
